Connect app wont find hub 5

I have tried to find my hub 5 through the connect app but keep getting a message that it can’t find it. I have had the hub for a few months now. Turned off VPN but that made no difference. Any ideas welcome please. 

Broken modem

Modem was broken whilst work was going in in the house. Builders tripped and seemed to partly pull out the wiring at the back of the box. Wifi now won't connect but lights are showing on the modem. Only been with Virgin 1 month What can I do ?
