SIM card price increase when switching

I recently got a mobile and sim package from virgin mobile, paying £12 for the phone and £8 for the sim. I was made aware that my sim would change to O2. I was told nothing would change, so why, now I am on O2 has my SIM card gone from £8 a month to £19.90 per month?

Thanks for using the Community Forums to get this issue with your mobile price looked into, I am sorry you've seen an increase since migrating over to O2!

When the migration happens, O2 will try to pop you on a similar tariff that you had but it may not be a perfect match - I'm sorry if this wasn't explained to you clearly. 

You'll need to speak with O2 themselves now as we don't have access to O2 systems, here's their Contact Page. 
They will be happy to review your tariff and price with you to find something more suitable.
