Router return

I recently had an issue with my router and an engineer was sent to sort it out for me. When I ordered a new router I received two so the engineer organised the return. At the same time he sorted out the return of the old router. This was all done through his mobile phone.

However I have received a text from Virgin Media today saying the they have yet to receive the old router. I tried to send a message back but it seems that I can’t do this.

Could anyone help me please?
