New adapter as from 14 April 2023

How can I plug the new adapter into the hub in the bedroom when the main plug for my landline is downstairs as the adapter is only 4 inches long

Move the telephone to enable it to be connected to the Hub using the supplied adaptor.

For cordless phones, connect the base unit to the Hub.

Many apologies for any setup issues, are you able to colocate the handset with the Hub?
