Moving house
Hi - I’m contracted to Apr 26 (6 mths into an 18mth renewal contract) but due to sudden ill health I’m having to sell up & move house. My new property has a drive with no front lawn and, given the shoddy job the installer originally did here, I really don’t want my new drive ripped up and have wires trailing all over the house again so I’d like to leave VM when I move. On the moving house section it states that my new property doesn’t have VM available (hooray) but when I go through the chat function to arrange cancellation it says that it does (boo) and that if I don’t transfer my account to the new property I’ll have to pay the cancellation fee (a few hundred £s). They also state (without having seen my new property) that it would just take a couple of hours but weren’t prepared to state how they would ensure that my drive and house wouldn’t be hacked to bits I note that the ‘cancelling within 30 days of a price increase’ loophole has been closed, but do I have have any other options here to cancel without penalty? (My only thought was that the contract isn’t enforceable as it states I receive MaxitTV, which since the renewal I obviously don’t as I no longer get TNT, so as I’m not being provided with what’s in the contract can I just leave it without penalty?) Any ideas? Here’s hoping …25Views0likes2CommentsMoved house - contract amended
Hello, I’ve just moved house, and a few days after my cooling off period has ended, have realised my contract was amended during the move. I had voicemail free, weekend chatter, telephone line rental, and M125 fibre broadband for a certain price (with a promotional discount). My new contract is £24 more expensive and only covers the M125 fibre. I remember confirming with a customer service person that I wanted to keep the same package. I’m very confused how this happened. However, I’m now on the hook for an extra £24 a month for another 17 months. Went around in circles with customer service chat earlier, although admittedly I hadn’t fully realised the problem then (was more interested why the bill was what it was; then was initially told I was paying more until feb 2025, not 2026…). Feeling like there’s no way to sort this now. Would appreciate any help, if possible. Thanks.501Views0likes2CommentsFlat address not showing on postcode finder
I am trying to move my services from one address to another. The flat above has a VM connection, and is the only flat showing on the postcode finder. My flat cannot be selected. VM promise to send out an engineer, but I can't get any update on whether that's happened. Can anyone help?700Views0likes3CommentsMove Virgin Cable Entry Point
Hi, I'm having a media wall installed and I'd like to have the Virgin cable entry point moved to a more appropriate location. I understand there's a £25 charge for this which I'm happy with, so could a Virgin representative contact me to arrange a date for an engineer visit? Many thanks, JonathanForced into 18 month contract after moving house
Hi, I recently moved house in early december and wanted to keep my current package and broadband equipment. Contract ends at the very end of december and wanted it to just move onto monthly rolling after my house move didn't want to add more stress onto a house move. However I recently noticed I was actually put on a new 18 month contract without my consent. Just had a 2 hour web chat that went now where. Didn't answer why I was put on a new contract and had no solution. Any advice on what I can do here to try cancel the contract, or Am I just forced to accept a contract that I didn't agree to or pay the early disconnect if I want to leave. My parents have a virgin hub but is placed next to the TV and as result the wifi is not reliable trough the house and the phone is not in an ideal location since Virgin changed how the landline works. I need to move the hub across the room, what cable can I buy to extend the current coaxial cable plug to the router. As I have recently bought one but it was a bit glitchy.
