Does Virgin Media Block IDrive online backup?
Since an extended intermittent outage a couple of weeks ago, my iDrive.com online backup has been failing every night, and I have also been able to access their website or log in to my online iDrive account, all other sites are fine. I checked my firewall settings and they were fine, I also disabled the firewall briefly and it made no difference. However, I downloaded and enabled a VPN and was then immediately able to access iDrive fine and run a backup without issues (without changing my geographical location). Does VM block iDrive as that seems like the only explanation that makes sense?Skype blocked?
I am trying to use Skype to talk to my family in the US but every time I type the address in I get "The Request is Blocked." I have turned the firewall off on my router and unticked both items in the Essential Security page of my account, so I don't know what more I can do. I also discovered that I can't connect my desktop PC to my Microsoft profile for probably the same reason. How do I unblock Microsoft products from my Internet Why are they blocked in the first place?1.3KViews0likes4CommentsAccount Compromised
Hello, hoping a member of VM staff can assist me on here. My virgin email address is a legacy @blueyonder.co.uk one, which I still use as my primary email. I am locked out of my email all together including on my phone and desktop. This leads me to believe that my Virgin email has been compromised. It is imperative that my access to this email is restored asap. I’m not too keen on giving much info away on an open forum, so am hoping I can get a DM regarding this.413Views0likes3CommentsSearch Engine Randomly Blocked
One of the search engines I regularly use for work is, today, blocked. I am in charge of the router and associated account. None of the settings there have been altered. I can only conclude that virginmedia itself is responsible. The search engine is DuckDuckGo, which largely relies on Bing (which itself is not blocked, confusingly). Please advise.634Views0likes5CommentsHelp, some websites are blocked despite childsafe and virussafe off
Help, all of a sudden, some websites are blocked by Virgin Media, despite having both childsafe and virussafe off under online security. I tried turning on and off childsafe but it doesn't turn on or off, it stays off with the following error 'Sorry the changes you made were not saved, please try again'. For example, reddit.com and vimeo.com require refreshing several times before I can see their content. Some websites, for instance, protonvpn.com are completely obscured. So far I reset the hub and checked and smartphones and computers wired and wireless all have the same issues. Can you please sort this out for my account? ThanksEmail Blocked and Password Advice Confusing
Our main ntlworld email address, connected to our main Virgin account stopped working yesterday and we cannot access it. This happens several times a year, but it appears the process to change the password has changed, and I am confused. Before I change anything please can you advise me: 1) Do I just change the Email password? 2) Do I also have to change the Virgin Media password for our broadband, TV etc? 3) Do I also have to set up this Virgin Media app password (this is the first time I've seen it)? The advice given by Virgin is extremely confusing and I don't want to change ANYTHING without being 100% sure.Solved858Views0likes3CommentsIncoming international call blocked.
Hi A German friend messaged us to say when she tried to phone us on our (digital) landline she got a message saying international calls to our number were blocked. We have friends and relatives abroad so we have no wish to block their calls. Thanks for any light you can shed on this. Nick923Views0likes5CommentsHelp! My Personal Web Sites and Hosting Seems No Longer Accessible
Over the last 24 hours my personal web site is no longer accessible using broadband (I've got a Hub 3.0). All other sites seem ok - just the ones that are mine. I also can't FTP into the web host in the last 24 hours. If I use my mobile phone network (I am with Three) I can access things and FTP ok. The problem is clearly with Virgin and has suddenly happened. My main site is pretty boring, just a regular Wordpress blog at https://garyhollingsbee.com and I have some other things using the same web host such as Wallabag, FreshRSS and a CalDAV server. Things I've Tried (with no success) used different devices (macbooks, ipads and phones) read these forums for similar issues changed DNS settings (tried OpenDNS and Google) factory reset the Hub 3.0 used the cURL command in terminal (which times out) flushed cache checked with blocked.org.uk (no, doesn't seem blocked) Help!969Views0likes4Comments
