Does Virgin Media Block IDrive online backup?

Since an extended intermittent outage a couple of weeks ago, my iDrive.com online backup has been failing every night, and I have also been able to access their website or log in to my online iDrive account, all other sites are fine.  I checked my firewall settings and they were fine, I also disabled the firewall briefly and it made no difference.  

However, I downloaded and enabled a VPN and was then immediately able to access iDrive fine and run a backup without issues (without changing my geographical location).  Does VM block iDrive as that seems like the only explanation that makes sense?

    cannot say but i would doubt it - there is another explanation that idrive may be blocking your ip address - why if its that is anybodies guess - by using a vpn you have changed your ip address - if you put the hub into modem mode that will also change the i address - if you can connect then its not anything to do with VM 

    if you are already running in modem mode using your own router then remove that put VM's hub into 'normal' mode and try the connection - again if you can connect thats removes VM from the problem

    if after all that you prove it to be your ip is blocked you will have to contact idrive to unblock it as the chances of it changing under VM is slip to nothing

    Does the backup to IDrive work with Apple Relay disabled ?

    Wireshark to find out more could be DNS or routing

    Hi, thanks all but it seems the issue was with IDrive, they may have blocked my IP as someone suggested here.  It is all working fine now.
