TV360 with AdGuard DNS / VPN
Hi, As many do I recently put my Hub5 into Modem Mode after purchasing my own router. GLiNet GL-MT6000 (Flint 2 running v4.8.3) - Openwrt-21.02 This router allows me to run AdGuard and OpenVPN. I have excluded the TV360 box from the VPN and tried to exclude it from the AdGuard DNS but still it is not fully working. No thumbnails in recordings, broken images and messages for TV, Movies, Apps, etc. Does anyone have experience with running a VM router in Modem Mode while still using a TV box? Does anyone know if Virgin uses a specific DNS for its TV service? Should the LAN cable that is attached to the TV cable be connected to the Virgin router or my own router, or neither? Thank you104Views0likes5CommentsHow much content is being ip blocked?
I say this because I pay for content hosting solutions via mega.nz and other platforms, and the only way of now being able to get access to them is by the means of now having to pay for a vpn, or change my dns. This has become a recent issue, I have tried getting access on three different machines, different browsers all using my connection to no avail. I made contact with the providers who assured me that there is no server issues at their end, this was apparent when I gained access via vpn in france. So I can only assume that Virgin has added certain hosts to it websafe block list without informing anyone. Repeatedly tried to phone for confirmation, from the tech services and was met with indifference and more pushy sales garbage than a street seller on a bad day in vegas. I know my way around, gateways, dns and ip management along with networks. So don't be afraid to jump in.. with sugestions77Views0likes3Commentsvery unstable upload on series x

Hey all, I have found a broken DNS node thats run by virgin media. Any idea if there's a way I can report it? It's been broken for about a week now. Thanks in advance The failing node (194.168.4.100) is the default DNS server for my router. Using any other standard DNS fixes my access to certain websites sites. ▶ dig +trace +tcp @194.168.4.100 https://racing-tv-webtv.pages.dev/android A ;; Connection to 194.168.4.100#53(194.168.4.100) for https://racing-tv-webtv.pages.dev/android failed: timed out. ;; Connection to 194.168.4.100#53(194.168.4.100) for https://racing-tv-webtv.pages.dev/android failed: timed out. ; <<>> DiG 9.10.6 <<>> +trace +tcp @194.168.4.100 https://racing-tv-webtv.pages.dev/android A ; (1 server found) ;; global options: +cmd ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached ;; Connection to 194.168.4.100#53(194.168.4.100) for https://racing-tv-webtv.pages.dev/android failed: timed out. In the early hours of Apr 14 2025 the search domain of my Pi changed from raspberrypi to raspberrypi.cable.virginm.net This seems a bit odd because I was asleep at this time and of course "cable.virginm.net" is an external host name, not like ".home"/".local" pi@raspberrypi ~ $ cat /etc/resolv.conf [21:50] # Generated by resolvconf domain cable.virginm.net nameserver 127.0.0.1 Closest I can find via search is Local DNS suffix is now cable.virginm.net | Virgin Media Community - 5507800 I know this is a bit vague and there's not much I can find in logs for this, but why would the Virgin router be giving out this search domain? So, I repeatedly can't access Reddit on my internet. If I change to 5G I can access it immediately. Looking at previous similar issues it looks like I need to change my DNS, but not really sure how to do this? Also, I have a x5 router I think, so I don't know how that affects things. I have tried Googling this but I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere.276Views0likes2CommentsOnline Security
Hi No matter what I do I can't seem to turn on virus protection via My Virgin Media. I keep getting the message 'Sorry the changes you made were not saved, please try again'. Also I have a new privacy warning "This network is blocking encrypted DNS traffic". Once again there is no option to turn this off anywhere. I noticed that there is another (paid) feature Advanced Security. Is it now the case that to access any security features, you have to pay?368Views0likes3CommentsWebsite users from Virgin Media can't access my website, DNS resolution gives the wrong IP
Symptoms: Users from Virgin Media trying to connect to my website can't, it gives them different types of errors related to SSL. After some troubleshooting, I found that the DNS resolution from VM serveres returns the incorrect IP address. Instead of my server's address (which works for everyone else), it returns [MOD EDIT: ip address removed] - lang-sspipxny.network.virginmedia.net. No clue what's happening here ? Is it some kind of blacklist from VM ? I used to have the website on a different domain name and everything was fine, now that i changed to a new one this happens. Also this is just a gaming organization website (organize parties and stuff) nothing extraordinary. Any help appreciated.295Views0likes2CommentsOngoing IP Blacklist Issue Affecting Internet Use – Urgent Assistance Needed
I have been a loyal Virgin Media customer for 12 years, but I am currently facing an issue that severely impacts my ability to use the internet. Despite raising two formal complaints (C-201124714 and C-021224726), I have received no resolution to this matter. Over the past couple of weeks, I have repeatedly encountered Google security prompts and have been unable to access many websites. Upon further investigation, it appears that the IP address assigned to me is linked to a network that is blocked or blacklisted. The specific IP in question is [REMOVED], which belongs to the 82.16.0.0/14 network under ASN 5089 (NTL, GB). Reports confirm the network has been listed at UCEPROTECT-Level 2 due to excessive abuse from other users within this range. I understand that my specific IP has not been directly involved in any abusive activity. However, as part of this “bad neighborhood,” I am unfairly impacted. I am paying for a service that I cannot fully utilize due to Virgin Media’s apparent lack of action to address abuse originating from its network. Supporting Information: IP Lookup Reports confirm the Level 2 blacklist status due to ongoing abuse on the wider network range. My IP is not listed on other major blacklists, including Spamhaus, Spamcop, and Barracuda. The detailed findings can be provided, but here are the key points: My IP: [REMOVED] Network: 82.16.0.0/14 (listed at UCEPROTECT-Level 2) No Level 1 issues with my IP, indicating that the problem stems from other IPs within the same network. Next Steps: I kindly request Virgin Media’s urgent assistance to address this issue: Investigate and resolve the abuse issues leading to the network blacklist. Provide a clear timeline or alternative solution to ensure my service is restored to full functionality. This situation is frustrating, as I rely on my internet service for daily use, and I believe it is Virgin Media’s responsibility to ensure that its network is maintained to prevent such issues. If no resolution is offered soon, I may need to reconsider my options as a customer. I look forward to Virgin Media’s support in fixing this problem promptly. Thank you. We have a company VPN that we use to access databases and other resources. I can access these resources from my computer when I am connected via my mobile network (Vodafone) but when I connect through my home Virgin Media broadband connection I cannot access them. If I perform nslookup against the hostname it routes through a reasonable DNS gateway such as 8.8.8.8 but simply times out. When I am connected through Vodafone the nslookup is able to find the IP address right away (10.x.x.x) I can't determine if it is my VM router (Hub 3.0) causing the issue or if it's further up the line. Have tried resetting router etc.
