Hi all,
I have recently ordered a quick start kit however I don’t seem to have a compatible connection to plug the router into. I have no VirginMedia wall box ( only an openreach Ethernet and phone line connection box), however I was under the impression a QuickStart kit would only be sent out if my home had a previous virgin connection?
I have a number of cables which appear to be coax cables which can be seen below, are any of these compatible with virgin broadband?
Thanks in advance,
Nathan

VM only knows that a connection existed at the address in the past. Often residents remove the bulky VM boxes when they are no longer needed or satellite installers remove the VM wires to fit satellite cables (which looks like it may have happened in your case). Your collection of cables look like TV aerial wires and satellite cables.
Standard copy/paste reply to a 'missing socket' topic is ...
Sometimes there is no wall box, just a trailing cable. The cable could be hidden within, or behind, furniture. Occasionally only a very short stub of wire is left behind often hidden within a blanked-off fitting. A few examples of the kind of things to look for are in the images below from past topics.

A wall box may be branded with the logos of an old cable TV company (not VM). Past occupiers of your property may have removed the cable and sometimes they are removed by other installers, such as satellite TV techs.
If you have a cable/plug trailing from the wall, you may need a coupler adapter to join two plugs together

Also available from the likes of Screwfix, Homebase, Toolstation etc.
If you have a plastic omnibox outside on the wall (where the VM cable comes in from the street) see if you can trace any wires from that into your home. The wall box will look something like these
(styles and colours may vary and branding may be non-VM (such as former cable TV companies).
If no luck, call the pre-installation and delivery team on 0800 052 1734 explain the problem and request a tech visit to install a socket.

Hi there @Nathan1211
Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the communtiy forums, it's great to have you here.
I am so sorry that you have faced this issue with your recent install, I can see that you have since spoken to our phone teams. Have they been able to arrange a manned install for you?
