Ntlworld email

My wife's ntlworld email account is showing nothing before June 2023, neither web mail or windows11 mail on PC. Both show a count of 5000 emails in inbox but there are no where near that many when you go to oldest email. I think VM had a mail outage last July and mail was lost for a time. Any idea how we can recover these mail messages.
