So I have tried various different browsers and all that happens when I click the link is nothing tried refreshing the page nothing any advice only happening on the virgin site as all other chats have been ok, strange thing is it sort of works on my phone

Are pop ups allowed in the browser?
If you give a brief description of what help you need then you may be able to get help here. We can then also move the thread to a forum that's monitored by staff.

Hi newapollo , yes I have tried different browsers gone through setting and pop ups are allowed.
When I click on the Live chat tab my the page just goes to the top of the page and that's it Tried refreshing after I wait for a few minutes and still just shows the top of the page with no chat box

I've just tried accessing the online chat by clicking on the Upgrade Package icon after signing into /my-virgin-media This generally works, but not today.
The same happened when I tried via the https://www.virginmedia.com/help/leaving page.
It may be that the online chat meesenger has been turned off as those departments are too busy (phone calls take priority, so the chat agents would be manning the phones)

You can also text VM on 0753 305 1809 or speak to the team on WhatsApp on 0730 532 7112 but again phone calls take priority and these methods can take 4 to 6 hours.
The quickest contact method is by calling either 150 from a VM phone, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone, call around 8am if possible when lines first open and are least busy.
