unable to access secondary email ac
On 28th July 25, I reported that my secondary email ac was not accessible causing huge difficulties (work email for my wife). Also other priority issues it took me literally hours to get Virgin to accept the problem - I was shunted from operator to operator, from country to country. I finally got through to someone who accepted that this problem was affecting all customers. He gave me a service request number and promised to rectify within 3-5 days. He would not put it in writing. So I filed a complaint and was told that they would respond within 28 days ! When I rang after the promised time to get an update, again I was shunted from operator to operator to operator. They tried to get me to try remedies that I knew do not work. Finally I spoke to an operator who understood my service reference, he promised to write and confirm that problem will be fixed within 3 to 5 days but he never did. Disgraceful. First priority is resolution. Then we need to work together to file a substantial claim for all the consequences and loss. If we approach as individuals, we will have a difficult time7Views0likes0CommentsEmail not sending - Correct Server Settings
Can someone please help. I am going mad with this and going round in circles. Recently my emails from my outlook app have not been sending and now emails from my desktop outlook at not sending either and I am being prompted to enter a user name and password. I rely on my emails and the only way I can send email is through the webmail. I have had a virginmedia account for years now. Emails are coming in but cannot be sent. Please help. I tried to phone 151 but there is no option for email assistance anymore. The pop up box to enter these details is consistent and it is annoying to say the least. Would it help if I uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook?3Views0likes0CommentsThunderbird: My principal email address suddenly unable to send/receive
I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for several years. Suddenly the app was unable to receive (nor send) emails addressed to my principal email address (*@ntlworld.com) - my other email addresses (also *@ntlworld.com) have been unaffected. The following message always appears:- "Login to server pop3.ntlworld.com with username *****@ntlworld.com failed." I have tried all passwords, including that for the non-virgin email address which I have to use to sign-in to Virgin Media. Also, have tried changing 'virginmedia.com' to 'ntlworld.com' in Server Settings and Account Settings (SMTP setting). I am at a loss, having searched this forum and the internet for a solution since 1 July 2025. Of course, I am able to access all my email addresses by signing into my Virgin Media account.Solved46Views0likes5CommentsAccess to secondary email account.
Hello everyone. Like many others,I am having great trouble with my email accounts.I have been a Virgin customer for many years. I have a primary blueyonder email address, and two additional addresses, which I and my wife use extensively. Since I was forced to create a VMO2 account, I find I have absolutely no clue as to how to administer these additional email accounts. How can I update the passwords (any of them?). If I try to create a second VMO2 login, the only option is to link it to the same account as the first VMO2 login ie just replace the first one. I am completely lost about the way the whole system is supposed to work. Please, please can anybody help? Alfred Dalton150Views2likes9CommentsBlueyonder email, power of attorney
Wondering if there is anyone who can help me out - my dad has dementia and is locked out of his blueyonder email account and subsequently unable to access his virgin account. It's no longer in use but there are many payments linked to the email acct, as well as the virgin TV, Internet, etc. subscription. I know that blueyonder and Virgin are linked in some way but that's about as close as I've managed to get in untangling this mess and I've not managed to get ahold of anyone from Virgin to speak to about it. I have power of attorney but there don't seem to be any readily accessible resources on handling this. If anyone has any experience with this, advice, or even contacts I can speak to, I would appreciate any help :) this is hard to deal with and it's even harder to get big companies to pay attention to us little folk! I am using iPad and iPhone mail app and this morning I could no longer retrieve emails thru my virgin router. 4G connection and webmail are both ok. Outbound smtp is ok. message is Server code “ALERT”, server message “Temporarily blacklisted IP Address - try again later “ The IP Address is clearly from my VM-supplied router. I have verified using spamhaus that my IP address is indeed on their Policy Block List and that outgoing emails will still function. But I feel VM need to stop blocking me because of the PBL entry. They should surely not be referencing this for incoming emails! Comments/explanations welcomed thanksSolved180Views0likes12CommentsUnable to access virgin.net email
I’ve been unable to login to my Virgin.net email since mid July as it was not associated with a live Virgin Media account as I login using my Apple email. Had many long calls with VM to associate my live VM account with my old Virgin.net email and they say they have now added to Virgin.net email to my account. Was also asked to change my Apple login to a 3rd party account, so I changed it to my Gmail email. Still unable to login and it was left that technical would be looking at this, never heard anything back so called yesterday. Was told that was an outage on all Virgin emails and to try again in 72 hours but I am not holding up much hope. Anyone got any other other ideas?91Views0likes2CommentsCan’t enter a “valid” email address on sign in
When I try to sign in to my Virgin Media account with my email address I get an error message saying, “Please enter a valid email address”. If I use the “Forgot your email address” tool then the email address it displays is the one that you’re telling me isn’t valid! So now I can’t access my account. What am I supposed to do? PS. Can’t search for tags on Safari mobile, and Safari desktop displays the message, “Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access url”, which is why I’m using mobile. Is anybody at VM actually checking that these things actually work?388Views0likes28CommentsVM O2 account linking ...secondary email account
I understand the need for improved login security these days but this whole switchover to VMO2 accounts has been done without any consideration for customers - a blanket email announcement to all VM customers a month or so ago would've been nice. My issue is that I have a secondary (blueyonder) email address that I have now also linked to VMO2 (along with my primary address) but, before allowing me to login to webmail, it is requiring me to link that 2nd email to my main VM account (when it asks for account no., area ref & surname etc) I am concerned that if I now link the secondary address to my VM acc. it will swap/disconnect the existing (and working) link from my primary email address ..or will it just add it? Has anyone here successfully linked more than one VMO2 account to a single main VM acc? Also, this only seems to be an issue for logging into webmail in a browser - as Mail apps on iphone/ipad/Windows/Mac (with original IMAP settings) are still working. Am happy to NOT use webmail temporarily if VMO2 are planning to revert to a simpler login method - can a moderator please confirm what or if there are any plans for this? Thanks. Can't get access to my email. When I finally got through to an advisor on 150, he told me not to bother trying to log in because THERE IS A FAULT. But I've seen elsewhere on this forum, we are being advised to sign in in a new kind of way. Can an advisor who knows what they're talking about kindly clarify what we are supposed to do. Not that I have much confidence in their reply. If I have to go through the hell I had to go through last time, this time I really will be leaving Virgin Media. None of the Virgin websites are working on my desktop Mac. I look forward to receiving some helpful advice.525Views3likes19Comments
