Password reset
We have been customers for a long time... My wife and I both have blueyonder.co.uk email accounts. As account holder, I initially set up sub-accounts (email addresses) for my wife and each of our children. I used to be able to see these and manage passwords (in fact originally, only I could do this - they couldn't manage their own accounts). I cannot find this page anywhere on my account details. My wife has a new laptop, and cannot remember her email password (not something you use very often when emails are synched onto a computer) but we can't find a way to either recover or reset this. The account is still active and on her iPad, but it doesn't show the password. Any help and advice?? Thank you!86Views1like6CommentsCan’t enter a “valid” email address on sign in
When I try to sign in to my Virgin Media account with my email address I get an error message saying, “Please enter a valid email address”. If I use the “Forgot your email address” tool then the email address it displays is the one that you’re telling me isn’t valid! So now I can’t access my account. What am I supposed to do? PS. Can’t search for tags on Safari mobile, and Safari desktop displays the message, “Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access url”, which is why I’m using mobile. Is anybody at VM actually checking that these things actually work?976Views0likes59CommentsNtlworld email
Hi, I have just realised I still have an Ntlworld email that seems to still be receiving messages. There’s a lot of junk in there and it’s been years since I used it so for security, I just want it fully closed down. I don’t recall the log in details but can still access from my phone. Does anyone know how to just fully shut it down? I haven’t been a virgin media customer for year so I’m surprised the account still exists! thanks40Views0likes2CommentsProblems with Email and other issues....
My Account Reference: [MOD EDIT: Personal details] Hi, I contacted the VM customer help desk last Tuesday evening concerning an issue I'm experiencing with our Apple mobile devices. The mail app stopped receiving emails and returned the following error relating to online status: Temporarily blacklisted IP Address - try again later. I believe the supervisor on duty noted the issue for forward resolution but I have no record of that. It's now 2 days later and the problem is continuing. This morning I had a call with Apple to see if they could help and to get their opinion on the likely cause. We tried isolating the network by switching Wi-Fi off and on and uninstalling and reinstalling two internet accounts plus changing passwords via the VM website all without success. Mobile data is working okay. I should add that I had already rebooted the VM 5 Hub without any change. Despite the 'blacklisting' Apple felt there was an unlikely conflict with my IP address. Their conclusion is that the problem is a VM network issue and not an Apple one (maybe a result of Router upgrade?) as everything was working fine before. I'm really head scratching now for answers as although we are able to access the email accounts through the VM web page portal users will appreciate this is totally unacceptable for any length of time. Please is anyone out there able to resolve this in quick time? Best regards Apologies if this post has been doubled up but I couldn't find my initial one in my VM Community A/c.Solved216Views0likes9CommentsNTLWorld email deactivation request
I have recently become the victim of a data breach where my passwords for many of my online accounts were leaked on the dark web. Yesterday I lost access to my NTLWorld email account which I have been using as my main email address for many years. After browsing this forum I have become aware that VM are now deactivating orphaned NTLWorld email accounts. I would like to confirm that my loss of access is due to the account being deactivated and not the account being compromised. If it has not been deactivated I would like to request that it is as I no longer have access. Please can someone advise.37Views0likes1CommentEmail hacked
Hi, I am not a Virgin media customer anymore but still have an email account (old blueyonder account) that has been hacked and I would like to close down immediately. I still used the email for user name on some accounts which they have now accessed. I would like to shut it down asap.56Views0likes4CommentsNightmare caused by Blueyonder Email and VM!
We signed up for Virgin Media about 10 years ago. I have been pleased with their broadband in terms of speed (as it was always Full Fibre here and No copper - yes). They gave me the Email maiThese-lto:G***@blueyonder.co.uk and for my wife mailto:S***@blueyonder.co.uk These are for example. To access the account change passwords I used G email no probs. Then when Web mail access came out they put me on a mailto:GM***@virginmedia.com Email this was not the account holder had to BYonder!! And if I read my mail on G @ BY it was the same as mailto:S***@BY. My wife has a new laptop so moving Email over to it on Office 365 copilot Outlook (client). Thats been changed and is unhelpful. But I can't find the password. (I use a password manager but this was all set up before that). I ring up Help Desk via their automated what do you want Broadband TV etc. Finally get through that and Help desk say this BY account is not connected. Eventually after a morning I get on to a WhatsApp Chat. And they have raised a ticket PO number. But it will take 3 -8 days to respond and they do not talk directly to users. However they have changed the ID of the account holder from a BY email to my VM email. I can access the account and read my Virgin Email. But a brief break from the dialogue. I don't view VM as a comms company they are in entertainment TV and all that jazz. And some time ago they lost Email for about 10 days!! So I decided enough was enough I have my own domain name (only costs a small amount). Went to another company and pay for domain support and Email.) There are rumours?? That VM will drop all blueyonder Email support (and some others). When I started to tell my wife that she may have to change Email address - she wasn't very happy. I would make a formal complaint but I don't feel Virgin Media are listening to their users or helping us. Getting through the on-line phone help desk is a nightmare.48Views1like1CommentResetting Password or recovery email address on secondary account
We have been trying to reset the password on my son’s @ntlworld.com account very unsuccessfully. We have tried the “verify another way” and the verification email is one that we don’t recognise and therefore have no access to. Having spent over an hour on the phone again today being passed around various departments there still seems to be no one that can correct what could be a fraudulent verification email in an attempt to block my son’s access to his email! We have tried recovery codes and they haven’t worked, it has been escalated (again) to the “IT Department” Has anyone else got any suggestions??33Views0likes1CommentHow do I access/manage email aliases?
It would be nice if VirginMedia/O2 issued clear instructions regarding VM/O2 Identity creation for management of email aliases. At the moment, I have successfully created a VM/O2 ID for my primary account, I can log in OK and access/manage the primary email account. I also have several aliases, which at the moment are all able to receive and send emails via my PC and mobile clients. However there seems to be no way to be able to manage these additional aliases via the primary account, which used to be the case before VM/O2 decided to wind up the email service. My email aliases have multiple uses all over the web, (logins, registrations etc) and losing them and having to substitute "third party addresses" would be a nightmare! I have read alsewhere that a separate VM/O2 ID needs to be created for each alias. So, my questions are 1 ) If it aint broke, should I fix it? (In other words, since everything is working OK just now, do I need to create VM/O2 IDs for each alias?). More importantly, will the alias email addresses remain the same if I do?) 2) If YES, how do I do this safely without screwing up my primary login and/or all the aliases!! Clear instructions please! 3) If NO, (which seems to be the case since everything works (for now), how long have I got before I am forced to create these ID thingys (which seem totally unnecessary to me) Kind Regards Dave NashSolved86Views0likes5CommentsDeliberately delayed access to email accounts??!
