Mini Box Power problem - Help
I have recently had installation of stream with a second set top box. Unfortunately I don't have a plug near the second TV in the kitchen, but have a wire which was used for Sky with a figure of 8 style connection at the end. The Virgin Mini box requires a micro USb style socket to provide the power... short of an expensive electrician fitting a socket is there a easy fix, maybe a connection which would allow me to use both? Any help appreciated.42Views0likes4CommentsITV1&2/ITVX - it's a joke.
So we've recently moved away from the V360 boxes to two stream boxes (the reason being is that we're having decorating done and didn't want the fibre cables to have to run around the room to reach the box etc.). It has it's downsides as obviously everything is streamed, most apps work fine e.g. BBC iplayer lets you watch live, from the start and if you do it will let you forward. Channel 5 is the same and even sky sport F1 (not tried the others) works like a treat, lets you watch from the start even when the race programme has started and lets you forward etc. Now.. ITV. It's unusable. Honestly it's rubbish. If you're watching live you can pause, but you can't forward to then catch up again. If you've missed the start of a programme and choose to "Watch from the start" - it takes you to the ITVX app and starts the programme - you can't even pause it never mind forward it. I'm paying for ITX Premium as well Virgin you need to fix this. It's nearly 2026 - not 1996. I can't even watch a live ITV1/2 programme from the start without being able to pause it? C'mon that's simply not good enough. I've complained to ITV directly regarding the app and they said they will pass my feedback to the relevant team (which means nothing). However, I pay you Virgin for the stream service - I could have just used the ITVx app on my tv/amazon stick and get the same service. Cannot you not store the programmes on your own server? Can anybody who's used Sky Glass tell me how the ITV channels work there?56Views0likes2CommentsStream box turning off
hi, my stream box keeps turning off and the issue is getting worse, especially when using Netflix and live TV. I receive a message on my TV that the box is off as no connection identified, despite it still showing a white light on the box itself but I have to reboot the whole box a couple of times to get it working again. anyone else had this issue? Do I need a replacement box?92Views0likes5CommentsStream box apps are incredibly slow
I've got 2 brand new stream boxes (Flex), one upstairs and one downstairs. Regular TV seems to work fairly well but the apps are so sluggish, it feels like the boxes are severely underpowered. Netflix especially is almost unbearable - scrolling up and down in the menu is so slow, starting a programme can take up to 30 seconds and it often takes a while for any subtitles to display. Once a programme starts playing and has buffered it works fine, but everything else is a truly miserable experience. Surely for a fairly new paid service it should work much better than this? Even the smart TV apps on my 6 year old TV aren't as painful to use as this. I am going to have to revert to using a Chromecast for apps I think because I have pretty much given up on the stream boxes now for anything other than live TV.649Views0likes13CommentsStream power adapter missing
I've had a Stream box sitting unused since I set up my broadband (as I had no need for it). I've just tried to install it finally this morning and found there's no power adapter in the box. Is there a way to request a new power adapter by itself? I've tied the Virgin help chatbot doesn't seem to be able to answer any questions about equipment or even seem to know that Stream exists. Thanks139Views0likes4CommentsI want to move over to a stream box
I'm actually trying to move over to a Stream Box from an existing V6/360 box because of ongoing issues with boxes always overheating and fan noise/HDD noise. I don't need the recording feature of the existing box, and something that runs much quieter and cooler would be idea. I rang customer services figuring it would be a welcome request as the 360 boxes are being killed off anyway. I was told it is not possible, the only way to do it was an additional £10/month fee and have it as a second box. This seems ridiculous. I'm actually trying to do VM a favour here as one of these days their dodgy hardware is going to set my house on fire. I was also hoping the Stream Box, which uses a different distribution mechanism (the broadband line not the dedicated TV coax) may resolve the sounds and sync issues which have emerged over the last few weeks and for which I am still awaiting a report back on some sort of fix. Was the customer service droid accurate, or could he just not be **bleep** doing what was necessary to recreate the existing package with a Stream Box rather than V6/360?469Views0likes8CommentsNot full TV services
Just moved from Sky Q to Virgin Media TV/broadband and I’ve been given 2 stream boxes which I didn’t know meant no pause of live tv or recording ! It was not clear during online process that ‘stream’ meant no recording. chat with virgin support said my area doesn’t have ‘full TV rollout’ and that stream boxes was all that’s available. is there no option to get a box installed to allow recording ? If not I’ll have to cancel and go back to sky which is a pain after all this effort. Adam495Views0likes14CommentsTS2/1/2/ERR_400/302/400 ongoing issues
