Not full TV services
Just moved from Sky Q to Virgin Media TV/broadband and I’ve been given 2 stream boxes which I didn’t know meant no pause of live tv or recording ! It was not clear during online process that ‘stream’ meant no recording. chat with virgin support said my area doesn’t have ‘full TV rollout’ and that stream boxes was all that’s available. is there no option to get a box installed to allow recording ? If not I’ll have to cancel and go back to sky which is a pain after all this effort. Adam326Views0likes14CommentsStream box apps are incredibly slow
I've got 2 brand new stream boxes (Flex), one upstairs and one downstairs. Regular TV seems to work fairly well but the apps are so sluggish, it feels like the boxes are severely underpowered. Netflix especially is almost unbearable - scrolling up and down in the menu is so slow, starting a programme can take up to 30 seconds and it often takes a while for any subtitles to display. Once a programme starts playing and has buffered it works fine, but everything else is a truly miserable experience. Surely for a fairly new paid service it should work much better than this? Even the smart TV apps on my 6 year old TV aren't as painful to use as this. I am going to have to revert to using a Chromecast for apps I think because I have pretty much given up on the stream boxes now for anything other than live TV.254Views0likes9CommentsTS2/1/2/ERR_400/302/400 ongoing issues
Trying to add a subscription to my account getting the above messages I try to add a subscription via myvirgin app I get an order is on its way. I've already had an engineer come to swap out my stream box swapped it back out as was still same issue . Customer support didn't want to escalate to 2nd line just send out an engineer or up sell products. Anyone who has been successful in getting this fixed what did VM do?115Views0likes10CommentsIssues since joining Virgin Media
I had tv and broadband installed last week and have found that we can't have the 360 box, even though that was what was ordered. The engineer said they are discontinued, even though my day 1 check in email from Virgin Media tells me about all the benefits of my equipment - a 360 box! I want what I ordered and called customer service only to be kept waiting on the phone for over an hour, to be told we can't have one. Any ideas what to do now, as I really don't like the streaming box. Secondly, we complained to the engineer who installed the box as the cabling that was done before the install is a real shoddy job. It looks so untidy on the wall, I could have done a better job myself. The engineer said he would escalate it to get it moved, but we haven't heard a thing yet. I'm not sure I can spend another hour on the phone, has anyone got an email address I can contact please? It's not been a great start, and I thought Sky was bad! Thanks all!Solved54Views0likes3CommentsReplacing 360 with Stream Box
Hi, I recently changed address and moved Virgin services over to address (landline, Broadband & TV) with the two 360 boxes. The installer mention the second box could be replaced with a streaming box and it would prevent unnecessary drilling into walls and cabling. Can this be ordered online? replacing the second 360 (currently unused but billed).112Views0likes0CommentsIs TV 360 really limited to certain areas?
I've recently switched to virgin and been given the stream boxes. I went on the chat the other day asking about TV 360 as I was not aware I would be losing my ability to record TV to watch later, and they said that it's not available in my area. Then they said that I can record on the stream box using a USB device, which when looking I can see that's not possible at all. So I'm just wondering if the information I received about the TV 360 box was correct in the first place. It's just a quality of life thing, if TV 360 is limited to specific areas then that's fine.70Views0likes3Comments2nd streaming box forever losing connection
We’ve recently joined and have a second streaming box in our bedroom, it’s on the second floor and is forever losing connection, saying there is no internet connection when other devices in The same room have no issues. I can’t watch anything upstairs. Any ideas? I’ve rebooted the box and checked the speed which is fine.74Views0likes2CommentsVirgin stream box
Hello, I have a Virgin Stream box, and I didn't have any problems with it until I decided to move it to the other side of my house and connect it via a Wi-Fi repeater. I have a GL-SFT1200 Wi-Fi repeater, and I can see the SSID of the repeater on all my devices, except for the Stream box. Out of curiosity, since I couldn't find my Wi-Fi repeater, I clicked on a random open Wi-Fi network. As a result, my Stream box now says "I am not at home" and doesn't allow me to change the network. That's the first part of the problem. The second part is why I couldn't see the repeater in the first place?415Views0likes3Comments
