Stream box turning off

hi,

my stream box keeps turning off and the issue is getting worse, especially when using Netflix and live TV.

I receive a message on my TV that the box is off as no connection identified, despite it still showing a white light on the box itself but I have to reboot the whole box a couple of times to get it working again.

anyone else had this issue? Do I need a replacement box?

    If the Stream box is showing a white light then it's active and working correctly. 

    Have you double checked that the HDMI cable is snug and tight at both ends. 

    Also try a different HDMI cable or port.

    Also check the Stream box under Settings > System > Standby timer

    You can choose from either 4,5, 6 or 24 hours before the box goes into standby mode if it'sb een in  idle mode (no button presses)

  • Thank you, I’ve checked all this, I’ve even changed the hdmi cable but it’s still very temperamental

  • Are you powering the box from a mains socket or via a USB socket on the TV? 

    My box kept failing after 30 mins when using the latter, forcing a reboot.
