How am I now supposed to access to my other VM mailboxes?
The way this VM O2 ID authentication change has been handled is disgraceful. They appear to have rolled it out without any prior testing. Just like Elon's "move fast & break things" approach, this has now resulted in a "rapid unscheduled disassembly". For gawd's sake do things properly, Virgin Media! I'm seriously considering moving my email away from these clowns who can't seem to do anything right. It's not as if changing the password is something that offers the customers any extra value at all; this was purely of benefit to the service providers (VM & O2). So we go through these ridiculous extra steps just to verify a new password they want us to adopt? Crazy! If I understand the limited advice provided by other contributors in these forum pages, if the user previously had multiple (say "..@blueyonder") mailboxes under VM, that user now needs to set up VM O2 IDs for each extra mailbox: this is in addition to the VM O2 ID he/she has already been obliged to set up for the primary mailbox. What is the justification for that, why is that necessary? If I previously had 4 mailboxes available under my previous VM email sign-in & ID, why do I now need an additional VM O2 ID for each individual mailbox? There has got to be a better way of catering for this user requirements scenario. I am so disgusted by this lazy thinking by VMO2, I am seriously considering changing my email addresss & moving to another ISP (no small project, as any reader will appreciate). Apalling customer service (NOT!)54Views0likes2CommentsCannot Link Account to O2 Login
I am having difficulty linking my account under the new O2 login regime. I have nominated a non Virgin Media backup email address, and kept the password feature. I have clicked on the link to verify my email address and clicked on the 'Link Virgin Media Account' button. I get taken to a page that asks for "Last name on account", easy to fill in. "Account Number", easy to fill in. "Area reference number", impossible to fill in. When I try to select "34" at the foot of the list, the box jumps to "31", the number above. The account is therefore not recognised. Can someone tell me if this is deliberate please? Outlook has been unable to Authenticate two of my email passwords since last weekend, I've looked here for advice and am trying to get back into my account to see what can be done. Thank you.40Views0likes0CommentsWHAT IS HAPPENING WITH BLUEYONDER EMAIL? THE TRUTH PLEASE.
Can't get access to my email. When I finally got through to an advisor on 150, he told me not to bother trying to log in because THERE IS A FAULT. But I've seen elsewhere on this forum, we are being advised to sign in in a new kind of way. Can an advisor who knows what they're talking about kindly clarify what we are supposed to do. Not that I have much confidence in their reply. If I have to go through the hell I had to go through last time, this time I really will be leaving Virgin Media. None of the Virgin websites are working on my desktop Mac. I look forward to receiving some helpful advice.125Views1like4CommentsIntermittent failure when sending emails
I regularly see a failure when trying to send an email message. I have not kept a detailed diary but my recollection is that this only started since I moved to Windows 11. My email client is Outlook. The failure does not occur on all messages, perhaps 20% and, if I persist, I can eventually send the message. There is always the same techy failure description. Here is one example: SmtpSubmissionPermanent5XXException: Smtp submission failed. Server 'smtp.virginmedia.com' Port '465'. --> Unexpected SMTP server response. Expected: 235, actual: 525, whole response: 525 5.7.13 Authentication Denied (VM321) Failure code: dcfa Can some smart techy person please tell me how to address this.20Views0likes2CommentsVM email not working with Gmail app
Hi I've merged my VM and 02 accounts as requested and was forced to also changed my password. I'm able to log in to my emails via a web browser but the Gmail app that I've used to years no longer recognises my account details. I've even tried to remove the account and re-add it. The IMAP settings remain as they were, and published on the VM support pages. Has anyone else experienced this, and can anyone shed any light into why this has happened or how to resolve it? I've tried to reach out to support by phone and Web chat but receive no response!118Views0likes7CommentsCan't access ntlworld email from the Gmail app
I finally managed to log in to my VM account. On my phone I went through verifying via my Gmail but just ended up with a blank page. This morning I tried on my desktop and amazingly it all worked. Verified using my Gmail and then created a passkey to log into my VM account. However I still can't retrieve my ntlworld emails using the Gmail app. It says user or password incorrect. Is it because I have now set up a passkey instead of a password to access my ntlworld emails via the VM account or should the password still exist and be valid? All help or ideas appreciated 👍Solved46Views0likes1CommentEmail no longer working
My son uses an email account connected to my virgin media account. Has had it a few years. For some reason he can no longer use it and when he signs in it says his email isn’t linked to an account. If we try to link it to my virgin media account it try’s to replace my email address. any help please121Views0likes4CommentsCompletely Confused.
We have blueyonder emails connected to Virgin. Up until yesterday we could log in on our PC, laptop and through the browser on a mobile to check emails. We used to use Outlook but have been unsuccessful in configuring the settings since Virgin changed things. Now, we cannot log into our emails on the PC through Virgin in the usual way. My husband uses the PC and isn't computer savvy when it comes to setting things up. I just thought it was him not understanding something. Now I've had time to look, I too am baffled and a little annoyed. I can still get emails through signing in with blueyonder on the PC but, if I want to look at the account settings, it wants the secondary email. I'm reluctant to use that in case we lose access completely. I added the secondary email Virgin wanted when I tried setting up our emails on Outlook, a Gmail one. I can log in with this and then verify the email on my mobile as I don't keep my Gmail account logged in on the PC. Then it wants to add another level of security. Using the email or a text won't work as it's going to my mobile so if I’m not around he can’t log in. Biometrics are no good either as it's a PC without that facility. Is there any way of removing my Gmail association so it goes back to being able to log on with blueyonder and password? I used to be OK keeping up with changes but when things are just dumped in your lap with no explanation, it gets very confusing. Thanks for any help.50Views0likes1Comment
