Delete this recording from storage not working correctly

After the most recent update, V5.14, when I finish watching a recorded programme, I no longer get asked to delete the recording. I have checked and I still have the "Ask to delete after watching" option on.

Before the latest update, I used to get the "Delete this recording from storage?" prompt with an option to either "Delete" or "Keep". 

However, now, in order to get this prompt to appear, I now need to watch the recorded programme, go back to the recordings list or home screen, then start watching again. At thus point j stop to the end and I then get the "Delete thus recording....." prompt and I am able to then choose delete or keep.

Has anyone else had this issue, or is it just me?

I have to say after reading @DSouth’s last post my initial thought on reading how the new update is meant to behave was that’s not happening with me.

I know for example I have got past the next episode message, clicked ‘back’ on my remote and am not prompted to delete the recording.

Thank you for letting us know @Dsouth Are you able to send a recording when you are able to get the message so we can forward this back to the relevant team for investigation?

Hi Akua_A, I have taken a video of the delete function when it both doesn't work as expected, and how I can get it to work with a bit of faffing about. I can't seem to upload a video here it only allows me to upload pictures, so therefore I'll reply to your email and attach it there instead.

We cannot access this file sorry as our systems doesn't allow us to access Dropbox.

Is it still doing this, or has it recovered now?

Is it every bit of content or just the one?

Yes, this is still happening and it is every recording, be it one I've just recorded, or one I recorded in July 2023.

Would you be able to access the video if I uploaded it to Google Drive or OneDrive instead?

I compressed the video down from over 500MB to 17MB and tried to upload here, but I got a message saying i don't have permission to upload video files so I have replied to the email I got notifying me of your post, hopefully you can access the video there.

Hi Matt, the email sent got bounced back as the email address only sends notifications and doesn't receive emails.  Therefore, please provide me with a valid email address so I can send you the video that was requested as I don't have permission to upload a video to ths forum.

Thanks for coming back to us @Dsouth, and sorry to hear that you've not been able to send the video example of this issue at play.

Just to confirm, have you attempted the diagnostics followed further up the thread, in which it was advised;

Turn the setting off > Confirm via hitting back button > A message confirming the settings has been changed > Go back in & turn it on > Confirm via back button > Wait for setting confirmation message > this should then be working again for you.
