Just moved into new flat, got self install Virgin as I have seen that there’s a wall socket for the cable, connected everything up but the light is flashing green, there’s no internet. I am attaching the picture of the wall socket, booked an engineer, but it will take a while for him to get here. Any advice, is it worth asking the landlord or is this a wrong socket?

That looks like a standard TV aerial socket? You may need to check with the landlord about the VM socket?

What other sockets do you have?
Standard cut/paste reply to a 'missing socket' topic on here is ...
Have you checked to make sure there is no other kind of connection? Sometimes there is no wall box, just a trailing cable. The cable could be hidden within, or behind, furniture. Occasionally only a very short stub of wire is left behind often hidden within a blanked-off fitting. A few examples of the kind of things to look for are in the images below from past topics.

A wall box may be branded with the logos of an old cable TV company (not VM). Past occupiers of your property may have removed the cable and sometimes they are removed by other installers, such as satellite TV techs.
If you have a cable/plug trailing from the wall, you may need a coupler adapter to join two plugs together

Also available from the likes of Screwfix, Homebase, Toolstation etc.
If you have a plastic omnibox outside on the wall (where the VM cable comes in from the street) see if you can trace any wires from that into your home. The wall box will look something like these
(styles and colours may vary and branding may be non-VM (such as former cable TV companies).

Yeah, so I guess I don't know anything about cables...
I will ask the landlord, as virgin has sent me a self-install kit, so I suppose there was a box fitted in here before?

Checked everywhere, no other wall socket - there is another wall socket in the bedroom, but again - It is the same one, as someone above have told me it is tv aerial...

Do you have an omnibox outside (likely for a house, possibly flat conversion, less likely in a block of flats)?
All VM knows is that there has been a connection at the address in the past. VM's cables and wall boxes are big and bulky. They often get taken out, if unused, during refurbishment and satellite installers often remove them to fit their own cables.

Hi @PortPond
Thanks for posting and welcome to both the community and indeed Virgin Media. Thanks to everyone for helping on this thread :).
I've not been able to locate you via the Forum details provided, so I am going to send you a PM in case not sorted and you need an actual engineer visit.
Best wishes.
