Not able to set Holiday Notice

I have been trying to set a holiday notice but was unable to. 

Previously, I would click on the cogwheel, select 'emails' and there would be an option for 'Holiday Notice'. This option sems to have disappeared.

There is a clickbox for 'Vacation notice' but when I click on this (or anything else) I get the 'Server Unreachable' pop up, along with a 'Unable to load your vacation notice. Please retry later.' pop up.

This has been the case since before Christmas and was very inconvenient over the Xmas break!

The 'Server Unreachable' also pops up every now and then, but broadly everything else seems OK, sending and receiving emails etc.

I have tried on various computers/laptops/phones on WIFI and Mobile Network but the result is the same. 

Anyone else getting this? I'm going away in a few weeks and would really like to set an Out Of Office message!!

    And this is when I click on Vacation notice. As I have said, this is the same on several machines and whether on Wifi or mobile networks...

      Hi simmyb,

      Welcome to our Community Forums and thanks for your post. 

      Sorry you're having some issues setting up Holiday Notice.  Could you confirm you have tried the below steps:

       

      How to set an Out of Office message

       

      1. For laptop/desktop click the cogwheel icon or for Mobile tap the top right circle icon and select Settings
      2. Then select > Email > Holiday notice
      3. Tap the slider so it slides to the right with a green background
      4. Write your Out of Office message and set when you want it to send
      5. Tap Apply changes
      6. To turn if off again, return to the same screen and tap the slider to the left, then select Apply changes again

        Thank you for your reply.

        Yes, I did follow those steps (tried to) but as you can see from my screenshots, 'Holiday notice' was not shown as an option below 'Email'. 

        I don't understand what has happened as the option was always there in the past as I have set an Out Of Office message many times in the past...

    Can anybody help with this at all? I've just been away for a couple of days and it was very inconvenient having to individually reply to each email, made it very difficult to relax!!

    I have tried multiple machines on multiple browsers, with Internet security both on and off, with no success. Every time, I get a 'Server Unreachable' message and 'Unable to load your vacation notice. Please retry later.' 

    This also is the case if I click on Auto forward I get 'Unable to load your auto forward settings. Please retry later.'

    My other personal gmail account has no issues so it seems to be a problem with my account with Virgin Media.

    This has been going on for months now. If I can't resolve this, I'm going to have to change accounts with all the bother that comes with, so any help would be very, VERY appreciated!!

    Like emalbany my OOO is now working. Not sure if that's because of my posting here or calls to the helpline.

    Same issue here since before Christmas, and tried 3 different browsers. Telephone help said it would be sorted the same day last week - it wasn't ! Hope you can help as I need to set this up over the weekend.

      Sorry to hear you are having an issue with  setting up your holiday notice.
      I'd like to take a look into this for you and see if we can get this resolved before you go away.

    I had been able to set my vacation notice, but after the email outage couldn't login to my emails via a browser at all. I can now login to my emails via a browser, but can no lonher set my vacation notice. Can anyone help?

        Hi Daniel,

        When I login to me emails, I can click on email setting, but when I then click on the vacation notice tan, I get a message saying the servier is unreacable and to try again later.

    Hello Tom_W, I changed my password not long ago for VM log in. As far as this forum is concerned, i registered recently (less than a month ago).

      Can you please confirm if you've attempted to clear cache on the browser you're using, or an alternative browser, to see if this populates the desired option?

        Had been away - returned yesterday and catching up with my stuff. I had attempted alternative browser unsuccessfully but was not aware of needing to clear cache (and still don't know how to do it) since that was not suggested earlier if i recollect right.

    Could we please have a fix for the Vacation notice/server unreachable problem please. Months have passed and no solution is forthcoming.

    Hello Simmyb,

    Yes, I have had this issue. I do not think VM is interested in resolving the issue looking at the past 7 pages of correspondence. 

    I was being helped by non VM forum posts but none works - clearing of cache, using different (chrome rather than safari) platforms, change of password - nothing works. VM keeps on pushing these options rather than accepting it has issues with its software.

    I am back from holidays but still unable to set up 'holiday notice' - considering ditching VM email fully and moving to more widely used e mail set ups such as gmail or similar.

        Thx for your interest.

        Using Apple's Safari. Had tried Chrome (not today).

        Message received is '!Unable to load your vacation notice. Please try later' and also 'server unreachable'. Attaching the screenshot.

        Had similar message using Chrome. I do not use / have MS Outlook. Have not tried with it.
