Setting up a new app password for Virgin email
I need to set up a new App password to connect the VM mail server to my outlook client. This password will take this form: word-next-more-last.
Before recent changes, I had more than once changed this password. I recorded the procedure:
Sign in to My Virgin Media
- Go to Account settings, then Account details
- Tap Manage next to Manage your Virgin Media Mail app password under Virgin Media Mail
- Then, under Virgin Media Mail app password tap Generate new App password and follow the instructions.
A new secure password will be generated for you.
Now the Virgin Media Mail settings tab takes you to the identity and security options! Am I missing something?
To create one or update an existing email app password you need to follow these steps:
Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID
Select Account Settings
Select Identity & Security Settings
Select Manage your products
Select Manage email app password
Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'
Make a note of the generated password. This is what you use in the mail apps along with the vm email address as the username.
