Landline - doesn't ring for incoming calls

I have bought new telephones (cordless) since plugging the phone in to landline socket and mains electric socket the phone will not ring when someone calls our number. I can see on the handset the number that is calling  butno sound. I can make outgoing calls.

Please advise

    When you say ring, do you mean people cannot call you or when you call people there is sound?

    Is there a dial tone?

    When you are rung does any sound come out of it to?

      Hi Matthew,

      When someone calls our number the telephone does not ring. There is a dialing tone when handset used for outgoing calls and I can call out no problem. I have reconnected the old phone which did work but now that does not ring when called. I have checked the ringer volume and that is set to full volume.

  • I have the same problem. All was working until a few days ago. Nothing has changed on my side, same handsets, same settings. I’ve checked ring volumes - and they ring ok when making internal calls. Also checked the Do Not Disturb function is not enabled,

    i’m using BT3110 phones.

    As with the original poster, the display on the phones light up but no ringing.

        Thanks for your assistance @Molly_T.

        For others that might be having the same problem, an engineer was scheduled to come out. After receiving the text message confirming the date and time, I re-checked my landline and it was working again , handsets are ringing. So no visits was required I cancelled the appointment.
