I don't want to renew my contract 1 month before the rpi rise. Can I leave and come back in April?

My 1gig contract expires at the end of Feb, and at the end of March there will be a big price rise. I can deal without Internet for a time if needed.

It doesn't feel okay for me to pay 1 month of the new contract as normal price and then 17 months of the price being higher.

The price I was offered on the phone is already higher than the deals being advertised for new customers which sucks. I'm with sky for my tv and virgin for my Internet and sky always seem to give my renewal the same offers they give new people..

If you were to leave and then re-join a month later, you would not be eligible for a new customer deals and would be offered the deals that would be available to you as an existing customer in April.

If you waited three months you would be treated as a newbie.

I renewed for £46 per month on gig1 with a hub5 upgrade after speaking to the renewals team and tech team.

Then I revived an email saying "Your new monthly bundle cost is: £90.99*. Your next bill will be £147.47* which includes £56.48 to cover your changes up until your next bill period."

      So that's pretty worrying 🙄

        Hi Nel13,

Is this your most recent bill? When did you discuss and agree to the package change? It's possible it's not detailing any agreed discounts as they can be applied in the background.

        Thanks,

On this point, you wouldn't necessarily need to. Your contract doesn't "end", it just reaches the end of a minimum term and becomes a rolling 30day notice one.

So once you're outside of the minimum term, you'll be paying the undiscounted price but can give notice anytime.
