There are a couple of things I'd like you to try so we can isolate the issue. First, can you try using a different HDMI lead between the TV and the VHD box? If it's still the same after that, try another HDMI port in the back of the TV.
If there is still an issue with the sound after that, we'll know for sure that the VHD is faulty.

Hi Josh, sorry for the late reply, been trying different solutions, but no joy.
have changed HDMI cable, slightly better , but still not right. tried the other 2 ports on TV, but still the same.
Purchased a new cable, which works OK, BUT..now, when we have the cable box on, but watch the TV's own channels, they are pixellated and break up? turning off the cable box solves the problem, but is not right, as never had this problem before ??
Not sure if cable box is faulty or not, as now does this with whichever HDMI cable I use, and whatever port on TV...Always used to be able to watch terrestial tv with cable box on before??
