After reading the forum I understand that it's because it's been turned off for ages and not updated but can anyone help fix it?
I've not got all my channels and it's saying the smart card is invalid REF 3014.
I've rang support and been sat on hold for 10 mins, then got forwarded and then back on hold for another 20 mins and finally given in waiting. I called off the mobile because the box is in another room hence why I gave in.
Call again in the AM or wait for a forum mod to respond to this in a couple days

Even if Richard is, he doesn't own the company anymore, just the brand name which is on lease. We will have to see if VM's new american bosses become more customer orientated than the ones we currently have.

Thanks for sorting this out. Everything seems to be working now. I've hardly ever used this 2nd box but intend to use it now. Either way i'll make sure it's not turned off at the plug so it receives it's updates.
It's a shame I had to take to the forums to sort it instead of the phone but it costs me 30 mins worth of mobile phone bill and I couldn't stay on any longer.

The box is giving me the error again about the card.
I'm guessing its because I don't use the box that much and it's switched off quite a bit.
Is there an amount of time the box needs to be left on? I don't like leaving things plugged in and turned on if I'm not using them but if this is goingbg to keep happening I'll plug it in a socket of its own and leave it switched on.
