Sim Swap for network improvements?

Hi, I received a letter a couple of days ago saying that due to improvements being made to the network I would need to swap my sim by sending a text to a number given in the letter. Sorry to ask this question but is this genuine? Main reason I ask is that although the Virgin logo appears on the left of the letter no Virgin registered company details eg address appear it's just "signed" by Mark Davidson Executive Director, Customer Care. Many thanks.

Re: Sim Swap for network improvements?

Hi lynjay,

yes it's genuine. Due to the new 4G service.

You're not the only one who thinks that the letter could be a little clearer: New SIM before 16th December.

Many thanks for your speedy reply. The more I looked at the letter the more doubtful I was!

Hi lynjay,

it's always good to be cautious.

To play safe you could call customer services (free on 789 from your mobile) who could organise the new SIM for you.

Re: Sim Swap for network improvements?

Hi lynjay

Apologies for the confusion and just to clarify yes we are sending out letters advising our customers that they can switch to a 4G-ready SIM if required.

You don't have to make the change, but should you wish to take advantage of any of our great 4G deals in the future, it will help get you setup for a 4G connection much sooner.

Any questions do let me know.

Dave
