New phone, new contract sim. Phone keeps saying no sim!

Hi, I've received my new contract phone and sim card today. Popped the sim in as it says and the phone just says no sim card - emergency calls only. I've turned it off checked the sim was in the right way (well you never know lol) but still getting the same no sim card. Please help 😕

perhaps your new SIM needs to be activated.

Alternatively you could give Virgin mobile customer services a call on 0345 6000 789 from any phone and see if they can help.

(Activation can take upto 24 hours apparently).
