Is there time limit to activate replacement Pay Monthly SIM ?

What it says in the title .....   I would need to change to a smaller sized SIM if I buy a new Iphone, so have requested a replacement nano-SIM.   Question is whether there is a time limit on activating the new SIM ??

Any info appreciated !

New Sims usually have a 30 day time limit on activating them.
