4G

is 4G going to be available for pay as you go?  I have a new 4G phone but can only receive 3G because I don't have a monthly contract.

I can get it if I change to another provider. I don't want to leave Virgin. But may have to if I want to make full use of my new phone.

Thank you

Re: 4G

4G is only available on Pay Monthly tariffs - this includes 30 day SIM only.

Pay as you go is 3G, and there has been nothing announced to say this will change.

Re: 4G

EE has a 4G standard payg sim faster 4G than Virgin who only have the cheap basic option of LTE no really 4G but that's a technical argument, based on it being an improvement on H+ the improved 3G service, EE use this but also faster 4G offerings

Re: 4G

John, would this mean a phone would display an H (instead of 4g) when using a new Virgin Mobile sim?

Re: 4G

Virgin Media are offering a 4G service.

On an Android device you will see 4G in the display. On iOS devices it'll currently say LTE until Apple do a software update at which point it'll also say 4G
