I cannot get sufficient volume thro my new TiVo box.free view perfect cannot find anything in settings
If you have syncd your TIVO ctlr to your television - re-do it and then try again..
If you haven't syncd them - use your TV ctlr... ZvnK ...
The Tivos volume is controlled by your Tv it doesn't have it's own volume control

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your TV volume.
Are you still experiencing the same issue? If so, do you have any surround sound equipment connected to the box?

no I don't have any exterior sound system.i only have the tv.what I don't understand is that if I switch to freeview the sound is great. it seems the virgin TiVo box is reducing the volume

I'm very sorry for the problems with your sound, can you talk us through how you've got the TiVo connected? Are you using a built in freeview or is it from a separate set top box?
On some TVs you can set the volume for each channel so I'd recommend checking the TV settings and potentially resetting it back to default too.

my free view is built in the tv, how my TiVo box is connected god knows,t was installed by virgin engineer when he did my up grade?
