Green "DVR has detected a serious problem" screen after MASSIVE Slowdown

For the last couple of weeks TiVo has been very slow to use, now while watching live TV it went all green and displayed this screen.

Are the two related, should I be calling in?

It means your hard drive has died a terrible death, you need to call it in and the tivo needs replacing

Re: Green "DVR has detected a serious problem" screen after MASSIVE Slowdown

Well, I have to say that today's experience of the call centre is much MUCH better than previous attempts!.
Agent understood that I've had green screen twice and further pointed out that my TiVo would be replaced sooner if I had an engineer visit. While I don't need somebody to remove four cables and pop 'em back in again it was nice to see that the agent was doing their best for me.

Now to binge watch everything I need to Smiley Wink

Hi Fysmd,

Thanks for coming in again and posting about the green screen, it's never fun when this happens.

I'd like to know since you've given the team a call, when are we arranging a swap for you?

Take care.

Ben

Hi Ben,

It was scheduled today and the box has been replaced now!

I've just copied configs from the old 'un so I hope by the time I get home this eveing it will at least be continuting to record new shows as expected.

I'm very impressed with the ability to restore config, v easy!

Re: Green "DVR has detected a serious problem" screen after MASSIVE Slowdown

I've just had this error and called it in. Agent says the only thing they can do is send one out via courier on Tuesday.
Whilst I commend the speedy response, falls a bit flat when I point engineers carry them in their vans and could drop one off.
No says agent, we know the box is broken so no need for an engineer, you can wait in all day for a courier.
When I again point out an engineer could drop one in passing, she says I'd gave to be in... But concedes waiting in for a fixed appointment time with an engineer is better than an all day courier slot where I now have to take a full day off work.

If it isn't read from a script or on a flow chart, agent says No!
Had tivo since launch and 4 boxes in. SkyQ anyone.....

Re: Green "DVR has detected a serious problem" screen after MASSIVE Slowdown

Hi beaker656,

Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear you've had trouble with your TiVo®.

I understand where you're coming from, it makes sense that a technician could drop off a box.

Unfortunately, the technicians usually keep quite tight schedules and any small deviations could potentially delay them in getting to their appointments.

I've checked your account and I can see that your technician has been out. Is everything working OK now?

If you have any more trouble or queries just give me a shout and I'll take a look!

All the best Smiley Very Happy

Josh

Re: Green "DVR has detected a serious problem" screen after MASSIVE Slowdown

Hi Josh.

A technician did attend yesterday as on Monday our aged Samsung V+ box also failed so I got in contact via live chat. Person I spoke to said a technician can attend tomorrow (Tuesday) between 8am-12pm. I mentioned that our tivo had failed and we were waiting a replacement, he said they'd sort that too.

He duly came out yesterday and to add, 1st job of the day (either he lived very locally or his schedule wasn't that packed). He swapped out both boxes, now working and I also received another replacement tivo via courier later in the day.

Shame I can't use it.

Hi beaker656,

That's great! Glad to hear it's all sorted out.

I can send you out Returns Packaging to send back the spare TiVo®. Would your home address be the best to send this out to?

Look forward to hearing from you! Smiley Very Happy

Josh
