I think I’m another one of probably many people with in Wolverhampton area suffering the same problems as yourself, with unacceptably poor internet service at peak times. I can't believe Virgin Media are planning on faster speeds 100mb on there so called fiber optic network, which is actually a HFC Hybrid fiber coax network, with more of its network being coax cable then fiber optic.
My internet suffers with between 10-30% packet loss and pings between 100-400ms at peak times making gaming and voip Skype telephone calls impossible. Are you connected to the same Ubr as myself? I think if Virgin can only provide a usabe service 70% of the time I should only be paying 70% of the bill.
How did you hear about a possible fix date being aprox June?

Seems this high upstream utilisation is affecting WV11 WV10 and WV8 areas of Wolverhampton. Maybe Virgin will do something about it sooner if enough costumers complain.
