We've just started changing the wireless network transfer rate on our Super Hub from 300Mbps to 145Mbps for all customers except those on 100Mb.
We're doing this because after investigating industry standards and guidelines from the Wi-Fi Alliance we believe that 145Mps gives Super Hub users who aren't on our highest speeds improved wireless range without a drop in performance. This was backed up by a small scale trial back in November which gave postive results with improved wireless performance after making this change.
We'll finish making this change over the course of next week.
What’s the advantage of 145Mbps Mode?
When running in 300Mbps mode general throughput may increase but this usually works best under strong signal conditions. As signal levels drop, and you move further away from your Super Hub we believe using 300Mbps (aka channel bonding) mode becomes less effective in providing the throughput boost.
Who does this change affect?
Anyone with a Super Hub who isn't on 100Mb.
I still want to use 300Mbps mode, how do I change back?
This FAQ will show you how, How to change your Super Hub's signal band.
What happens if I reset my Super Hub now?
If you do a pin hole reset or a full reset via the GUI, your Super Hub will come back online after the reset in 300Mbps mode as this is still the standard "Out of the Box" setting for the Super Hub right now. We'll be making this change the default in our next firmware update later this year.
Thanks
