No Sky Sports on Mac

After years with Sky & Sky Sports I now find I cannot get the Sky Sports Player to work on my Mac with Virgin.

Here is the error message I get both on my Mac & Macbook

Screen Shot 2015-11-26 at 07.36.04.png

I spent 1hr 20 minutes on the phone with a Virgin Technician two days ago.  He was unable to help.  He tried everything he knew & I allowed him to take over my screen but to no avail.

There is no problem on my iPad it works perfectly.

Any body any suggestions on this?.

I recently upgraded both my Macs to the latest OS, El Capitain & I am wondering if there is any conflict.

Re: No Sky Sports on Mac

Hi ronsil,

Thanks for your post and a big welcome to the forums Smiley Happy

I'm really sorry to hear that you're not able to get Sky Sports working.

The error showing often relates to the Silverlight settings. In Macs the most common problem has been the cookie setting.

Make sure this is set to Always.

Has this resolved the issue?

Let me know.

Thanks,

Re: No Sky Sports on Mac

The problem is still ongoing.  A Virgin tech help was on the phone to me last week for 1.5 hours & declared he was unable to solve the problem.

He took over my screen but to no avail.  He was completely baffled.  So where do we go from here?

Re: No Sky Sports on Mac

Hi ronsil,

Thanks for coming back to me on this.

Did you try changing the cookie settings as mentioned in my post above?

It may also be worth making sure that the Silverlight add on is fully up to date. Delete from your Mac and then redownload this.

Let me know how things go.

Thanks,

Re: No Sky Sports on Mac

I can confirm the cookie setting is set at 'Always' & I have had 3 goes at uninstalling & then re-installing 'Silverlight.

All to no avail - still the same error message each time.  Your technition did tell me the error codes were related to 'Chrome'

I don't have Chrome on my Macbook but still no Sky Sports in Safari but with the same error message as on my main Mac

You do know that you can only use 2 devices at any one time, right?

Hi ronsil,

Thanks for coming back to me on this again Smiley Happy

Can you try playing the Sky channels via Firefox instead to see if changing the browser changes anything Smiley Happy
