Poor speeds / climbing latency

After finally getting the last issue sorted, it lasted all of 2 weeks before the next issue started. Now the speeds are poor, more so the upload. Power levels are fine, but latency is starting to climb and speeds are falling. The upload speed is pretty low even at gone midnight.

I'm getting more than a bit fed up at the constant issues in this area.

Re: Poor speeds / climbing latency

Hello DarkBahamut

I have had a look at your connection and levels etc all look good. Historical downstream utilisation low, upstream SNR good and error free..... however I'm sorry but upstream utilisation is high, it is almost at the point of breaking our threshold for escalation but not quite. Looking at your graph for yesterday for example mirrors my graph here for your upstream utilisation. We will continue to monitor this and once again sorry for the reduced speed and lag at the moment.

Please post back here any time for an update.

Thank you

Nicola

Re: Poor speeds / climbing latency

Any chance of an update on this? Still get reduced peak speeds and increased latency in the evenings.

Re: Poor speeds / climbing latency

Hi DarkBahamut,

Thanks for the update, checking your connection I can see that peak time utilisation remains fairly high but is still not yet at a level we can escalate to networks for investigation.

We'll continue to monitor the issue, and should it develop, we'll get it raised as soon as we can.

Please continue to bump this thread for updates.

Cheers

Re: Poor speeds / climbing latency

Any further updates? Latency is still pretty spiky and the upload speed still around half of max. The spikes to >100ms locally are fairly detrimental to gaming performance.

Re: Poor speeds / climbing latency

It should also be noted that this still applies even at nearly 2am in the morning. Surely 'peak time' utilisation cannot be quoted here, unless peak time now runs from 8am - 2am!

Re: Poor speeds / climbing latency

Hi DarkBahamut,

Thanks for the update.

I have checked back in to this for you and the issue is now severe enough to raise to networks, which I have done for you.

Pop us a post in the next 24 hours and we will have an estimated fix date and fault reference for you to enable you to claim back credits on your account.

Talk to you soon and thank you so much for your ongoing patience,

Re: Poor speeds / climbing latency

Hi. Just dropping a post here for the fault reference/time update, though I know these things tend to take a while to get fixed Smiley Happy

Out of interest, is it currently upstream or downstream utilisation being raised? I can never reach full speeds on either to varying degrees, but the speeds aren't so low that one should be limiting the other which would seem to suggest both are being limited somewhere?

Thanks.
