Skype blocked on virgin hub 3.0

Hi,

I have just switched from TalkTalk to virgin media with Hub3.0.

I find that skype is blocked on my laptop.

It works when I tale my portable to work, or connect to the mobile hotspot on my phone.

I need it to work, else I will have to migrate back to talktalk.

Advice very welcome.

Hi duncs_2000,

I shall do my best to help with this, so thanks for getting in touch.

I'd like to know exactly what problem you are getting and how it manifests itself? Is Skype failing to connect from the outset, and if so what error message is returned? If the failure is elsewhere please explain what steps preceded the error and what the error is.

I'd also like to know:

  • What version of Skype you have.
  • Your Operating System.
  • Whether you are connected via Ethernet or Wifi.
  • What security software is installed on your pc/laptop.
  • If more than one device has this same issue.

Hopefully your replies to the above will help me understand what may be causing the issue.
