I am moving from Talktalk to Virgin on 17th December and have been reading the forums about install horror stories. The concern I have my son is autistic and online videos and talking to Grandparents and some of the only things that can calm him, so a break of service could cause issues.
Is there anything I should do before install to ensure everything goes smoothly?
Is there anyone from Virgin out there that can contact the installer before hand? Could we get a name to prepare my son for the day?
With any change to/from VM it would be best to plan to run the two services side by side for a week or two.
That way if there are hiccups on the day, you still have internet.
Basically the difficulties lie in the fact that VM use their own infrastructure, so changing from one ADSL ISP to another, the line is already there and you know it works. With VM you dont know till someone comes and starts the work
