playstation network

My son's ps4 worked perfectly for two years up untill Christmas night.

Now it won't sign into psn.

Tried my neighbours ps4 and same problem.

Tried hub in modem mode with a new wireless router , same problem.

Everything else in the house works as normal.

Tried ps4 using Vodafone 3g wireless hopspot on my phone and IT WORKS.

Wth is going on?

Had enough this isn't Sony's issue or anyone's but virgins.

My PSN / PS3 / PS4 / PSVita access is working fine. #Justsaying

Running on 200Mb VM service with SH2 AC in Modem Mode, with a ASUS RT-N66U router. With this setup I get Fantastic WIRED and WIRELESS Signals in my home. I dont work for VM. But I work in IT, and I know my tech.
My advice is at your own risk.

Re: playstation network

Doesn't work for everyone but works for some (worked for me with my console not signing into PSN) I changed my firewall setting in my superhub from medium to low & changed my DNS server to googles, I since have not had 1 issue with it not signing into PSN, works every time with no disconnections or lag, playing gta 5 online perfect, unless the PSN actually goes down.

Changing the PS4 DNS server

1. Go to "Settings" > "Network" > "Set Up Internet Connection"
2. Select Wifi/LAN as appropriate for your connection.
3. Select "Custom".
3. IP Address Settings = Automatic
4. DHCP Host Name = Do Not Specify
5. DNS Settings = Manual , Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8  ,  Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
6. MTU Settings: Automatic
7. Proxy Server: Do Not Use

Or phone customer services & ask them to check your hubs SNR/power levels to make sure they are not all over the place as that can cause problems too.

Re: playstation network

Have you tried a wired connection? You mention another Wifi router.

Re: playstation network

Tried the dns settings with no luck.

Switching to modem mode with another router seems it works for half a day then the error code starts again, everything else works fine.

out of modem mode onto super hub wireless and it works! For a few hours then error code!

Back into modem mode with another router that had stopped working and it works! For a few hours
repeat over and over Smiley Sad

Re: playstation network

It's a stupid problem that so many other customers are going through & yet for myself & many others it works fine without issue, could it be down to the actual superhub itself or perhaps the power levels are going haywire on the line every now & then? It would be quicker to phone up customer services & get them to check the signals out.

Indeed strange that it worked in modem mode with a new router then after a while decides not too.

There are many posts in the forums about this issue of not connecting. Both my PS3 & 4 connect fine, I have got a superhub 1 which has been working great.

I wish I had a fix but It's baffled me? Smiley Frustrated

Hope you manage to get it sorted.
