I got my Virgin Media Internet arround 3 weeks ago and there seem to be huge ping spikes on all games. At start I just thought that this happening because I just got the Internet but weeks went by and the issue is still there.
I'm using a wired connection and that doesn't help my brother is using the wireless connection and exact same issue applies. I'm also using a different router as the wireless connection was not strong enough but even when I dint have it the problem still was there.
To give an example when I'm playing counter strike the ping sit at arround 40 and at some points jumps up all the way to 400 and that makes it unplayable also sometimes the ping just stays at 150 which is also unplayable this issue also happens on my way ps4 when playing any game such as call of duty or fifa.
Before I got Virgin I had BT and there was no problem and when I got Virgin it started. The package that I have is 100mbs which is faster then the BT which was 70mbs and there was no issues with slower Internet even pages sometimes takes longer to load at some points is there any way that could be fixed?
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear you've been getting ping spikes. I've checked your connection and can see that your downstream power levels are too high. We're going to need to get a technician out to adjust this and have just sent you a private message to arrange the best time for this.

The engineer came and adjusted everything, but he said that my internet is being traffic managed and that could be the reason I'm getting these issues. Going to see if the issue is still there and update you soon.
After the engineer left it was fine for few hours and it started happening again apparently could be happening due to the traffic management but I don't understand why because never happened when I had BT and another issue is that my internet speed drops significantly at some points. I just done a speed test and I got 10mbs when it should be 100(usually shows around 90 on speedtest.net). Is my download speed being traffic managed?
