I cannot send emails from my iPad using my ntlworld account

When I send to myself I sometimes get a message that server can't send it, sometimes they just sit in my Outbox. Been going on for over a week now.

I've tried deleting the account and then re-adding it, have checked the settings:

smpt.virginmedia.com.  SSL on  Port465         imap.virginmedia.com port 993         Have changed my email password as well. 

Am now out of ideas and patience. Can anyone help?

Thanks for that advice but I've just tried it and am still not able to send.

Can you receive on your iPad? Can you test on a laptop via web mail and tell us what happens - can you send, receive or both or none?

Hi Howard.  Yes I can send and receive from my phone and from my laptop, it's only on the iPad that emails don't send and it's just in the last week.

I'm at the end of my expertise here. I'm going to refer this thread to the Forum Team to look at - specifically to look at your mail box and make sure all is well on the VM servers. They won't be able to do this until tomorrow. In the meantime someone else may come up with an answer.

A couple of final thoughts  -

Did this problem coincide with an iPad upgrade to IOS10?

Have you re-booted the iPad since you went through Ravenstar68's post at message 2 above?

If not please do so, and, then check again that all the settings are as they should be.
