I left VM 2 years ago and now my ntlworld email has been hacked. How do I close the account down?
I left VM 2 years ago after having had my broadband supplied by them for 15-20 years (originally NTLWorld). When I left I set up new email accounts as I’d been informed the NTL world email would be deleted after 90 days. unfortunately some of the services I’d used but unsubscribed to have been sending me messages with new access codes (some messages in Spanish), I’ve received some phishing emails with my NTLworld password being quoted and I’ve also been receiving a load of email failed to send messages - so my email has clearly been hacked. How do I go about getting my email deleted so I can put an end to the hackers pretending to be me?20Views0likes2CommentsUnable to log in to my VM account
Hi, I am not receiving the verification email to log in to my account. This also happens when I am being asked to link my virginO2 to my Virginmedia account and when I try to log into Sky Sports. My original problem was that my login email address was an old one that I no longer had access to. I have had several live chats and a long phone call, where my problem was escalated to IT. I have not heard anything now for 2 weeks. i have now managed to get access to that old email address, it sends and receives perfectly well, but nothing from Virgin to verify and access my account. Can anybody help with this? Thanks, Richard32Views1like2CommentsNtlworld email
Hi, I have just realised I still have an Ntlworld email that seems to still be receiving messages. There’s a lot of junk in there and it’s been years since I used it so for security, I just want it fully closed down. I don’t recall the log in details but can still access from my phone. Does anyone know how to just fully shut it down? I haven’t been a virgin media customer for year so I’m surprised the account still exists! thanks41Views0likes2CommentsHow do I access/manage email aliases?
It would be nice if VirginMedia/O2 issued clear instructions regarding VM/O2 Identity creation for management of email aliases. At the moment, I have successfully created a VM/O2 ID for my primary account, I can log in OK and access/manage the primary email account. I also have several aliases, which at the moment are all able to receive and send emails via my PC and mobile clients. However there seems to be no way to be able to manage these additional aliases via the primary account, which used to be the case before VM/O2 decided to wind up the email service. My email aliases have multiple uses all over the web, (logins, registrations etc) and losing them and having to substitute "third party addresses" would be a nightmare! I have read alsewhere that a separate VM/O2 ID needs to be created for each alias. So, my questions are 1 ) If it aint broke, should I fix it? (In other words, since everything is working OK just now, do I need to create VM/O2 IDs for each alias?). More importantly, will the alias email addresses remain the same if I do?) 2) If YES, how do I do this safely without screwing up my primary login and/or all the aliases!! Clear instructions please! 3) If NO, (which seems to be the case since everything works (for now), how long have I got before I am forced to create these ID thingys (which seem totally unnecessary to me) Kind Regards Dave NashSolved88Views0likes5CommentsCan't login to VM account to access email

I have been Forbidden access to my webmail (@ntlworld.com) for about a week. In the past, resetting the password has always remedied the problem - but not this time. I have done this five times - from different kit (desktop, laptop) and browsers (Firefox, Chrome) but to no effect. What else can I try?Solved72Views0likes2CommentsUnable to access my virgin media email account AGAIN.
Unable to access my virgin media email account AGAIN. Being told my email address is unverified despite going through this exact process a few months ago. I actually got an "email address verified" message this morning when trying to sort it out but when I tried to log in it still says I'm unverified. I've got ONE login attempt left before my account is locked. PLEASE sort this out, it's not acceptable!Solved109Views0likes2CommentsUnlinking An Account From a VMO2 ID
Is it possible to unlink an account from a VMO2 ID? I cannot gain access to two of the three email addresses, I am told I still have, as webmail. Apparently I have a 'sub-user' account linked to my ID and not an 'Admin' one. I'm hoping I can get a straight answer here. I spent an hour and a half on the phone yesterday and for the last half hour someone in 'support' with remote access to my PC messed about on it getting nowhere fast. He said he would stop the call and phone me back 'in a minute'. I'm still waiting. It seems to me the whole setting up a VMO2 ID exercise has been designed, at worst, to weed out so called 'Orphaned' accounts and instigate a mass closure of customers' mailboxes. It best, it is designed to so frustrate email users that they will give up hope of ever seeing their mailboxes again and move elsewhere. Please someone, prove me wrong.61Views1like2CommentsNeed assistance from staff - account security risk
Last month, I was abroad and tried to access my VM webmail on my phone as usual when I was met with a different looking screen that was more white and blue in its colour scheme. I think it was the same screen I have had before several times that seems more like a backend VM webmail security screen to confirm login again when my sessions with webmail have sporadically been timed out. Sometimes, I can even refresh or 'Back' out of this screen and into my webmail as normal. (Anyone know the screen I mean?) Anyway, this screen was instead now telling me that I needed to create a Virgin Media O2 ID by linking my VM account to my O2 account. It all seemed official as I had been trying to access my webmail from the same webmail tab that is always open on my phone. I recall going through the motions with this and setting up an O2 ID and finally getting into my webmail again, and I had a text confirmation of this being completed. However, I was in such a panic about not being able to access my emails abroad when I needed them that I wasn't fully checking and it looks like I have an O2 ID confirmation from what appears to be a standard mobile number. Can a member of staff please contact me so that I can check whether my account remains secure and discuss this in further detail?55Views0likes2Comments
