Next speed tier for £3.
I got a text to my phone offering me an upgrade to the next speed tier for £3 Couldn't seem to do it on the phone, so spent 40 mins on live chat for the person to tell me its not available to me and it would cost me £106 to upgrade. Has anyone else received this? Is this a valid Virgin text, if so why am I getting it?91Views0likes5CommentsNew package deal
I agreed to a new deal and have a few questions. when will my virgin media update to show the new package? I am waiting for the new router to come as I’m switching from 350mb to 1gb speed. I did receive an email saying my new package includes 1gb and removed the 350mb package. i specifically asked whether the annual price increase would apply to me or will my charge remain the same for the full 18 months and was told it will stay the same and no need to worry about the annual price increases. The contract doesn’t state this though, it shows the price increases, I need clarification. will my o2 sim that I got as part of the bundle automatically show up on my virgin media app? When I try to add, it doesn’t have an add existing sim option. I have received and activated the sim and also logged into the myO2 app I was told that I will get 3 months Disney plus subscription free and £2 off the subscription thereafter however I have not been told how to activate this is there anywhere to find contact numbers to speak to someone when there’s issues? appreciate any help245Views0likes6CommentsUpgrading a brand new line that was on a deal?
Last week my fibre line was fully installed and now up and running - it took about a month to actually get the install process all complete due to Xmas and new year. The contract was a gig1 deal, where you are not charged for the first 3 months. happy with the install service but with 2 people working from home and significant need for downloads, we wanted to upgrade from gig1 to gig2 to future proof too. This doesn’t seem like an option though - I’m unable to upgrade on the app or online, and I tried chat and I tried phoning. No one can do an upgrade to the current gig2 deals. it seems silly because technically I’m in the 14 day cool off period, so, theoretically I could cancel my contract and start a new one on gig2 - but that would mean waiting times and more hassle for virgin and myself. I’m effectively offering to lock myself into a new contract and pay more money on the gig2 deal but nobody seems able to help. Is this a limitation on new accounts or just a frustrating request that isn’t catered for?127Views0likes2CommentsSneaky Contract Renewal price increase
My contract is up in December and I'm getting the obligatory 'renew now' emails and so clicking through the deal on the website, I get an increased price which I'm happy to take (begrudgingly) however it seems as Virgin are being extremely sneaky and instead of starting this renewal at the end of my initial term, it kicks in immediately at the higher price! Why should I pay another £10+ a month for the last three months of service? The documentation is not clear either on when it kicks in. Usual useless whatsapp chat seemed to confirm my suspicions. Anyone else got this challenge?763Views0likes3CommentsPackage upgrade gone missing
Hi, im seeing if someone could look into my upgrade. It's been a week, I accepted a broadband upgrade online and have the contract offer but nothing is showing in my orders. I contacted Virgin on WhatsApp but all they did was offere the same thing but 3x the price. Any help would be appreciated ThanksSolved649Views0likes2CommentsUpgraded speed online, received 2x pre-contracts but no further updates
Hi, I wonder if somebody could help please? I keep looping around the live chat and feel a bit fobbed off when I do get to somebody. I upgraded online to the gig1 package that says new equipment & new contract 2 days ago now. I immediately received 2 emails, with 2 different pre contracts and numbers showing the new pricing but start date on both is TBC. It also states I have 14 days from receipt of the document to cancel if unhappy. Yesterday, I queried any updates/delivery dates for new equipment and conveniently, live chat told me an order confirmation with estimated start & delivery date takes 14 days to come through, but that my cooling off period hasn't started. Is that right? There's no change on my virgin media account and the virgin app has been failing constantly for the last week. There's also no open / outstanding orders or appointments on my account. Just don't want to find 2 increased direct debit payments taken and tied in to another full term contract with no upgrade and arguing over the cooling off terms. Thank you993Views0likes9CommentsEstimated Activation Date passed a few days ago
I upgraded to a new contract a week ago. I received the pre-contract documents and an order confirmation email. The estimated activation date in the order confirmation email was 02 April 24. Now it's 05 April 24 and still have not been upgraded and I'm still being billed the old price. Please send me a PM.445Views0likes1CommentOnline Account Offers To Upgrade Package A Scam?
I have an offer to upgrade my package to 1 gig broadband and a £10pm O2 SIM, the full order went through and I have received documents by email to acknowledge the order with new contracts. It has never showed on my account and 3 weeks later I still have nothing. I have contacted support on 5 occasions over whatsapp in this time and to begin with I was told to wait a little longer for it to show up and go through. Each time they have tried to up-sell me something different at a much higher cost. The offer is still on my account and I can still take it through to my basket and take it out again. I suggested that I do this again to the final operative I spoke with and they encouraged me to take up their inflated offer instead as I may have the same problem (No surprise there). I get the feeling that these online offers in your account area dont mean anything to Virgin Media and are just an excuse to get you to contact them when it doesn't go through and then try to sting you for more money. Iv raised complaints with VM. Iv also taken screen grabs of all the conversations, the offers still on my account along with the contracts they sent through by email and will contact the Advertising Standards Authority to see if any rules are being broken.1KViews0likes4Comments
