Solid red light Hub 3
I have a solid red light on my Hub 3 which has been there for about 2 months. I have restarted the hub, blown the device it with a mains powered electronics cleaner, restarted using the pin hole and still the light remains. All of these steps have been repeated numerous times. When my hub starts up after being reset (which it does by itself), it takes almost 30 mins to start both ethernet and WiFi. I'm worried that it'll give up and won't initiate any connection. I've had the hub since 2017, and been with Virgin since at least 2013, and upon calling the customer line and speed tests being run, they have told me that I'm not able to get it replaced, not able to buy a new one and not able to swap for a refurbished one. Unless I upgrade my package to a higher speed, or experience more serious connection issues, I've been told it's not possible to get it replaced. I'm out of contract and willing to start a new one if I'll get a new hub but I was told upgrading to 1gb is my only option. I don't want a new hub for fun, I just want to make sure my connection isn't interrupted as I work from home and need it all the time. My Hub 3 light has been red for several weeks now. I have done all the things to do online. Full Reset. Checking Cables. Turning off and on - all with no change Tried contacting via chat and was told there was nothing to worry about and probably just doing a firmware update (!?). Next time was told its just the LED's age ?? Internet does drop on occasion. More so between Wi-fi and my TV box. Happens constantly meaning catch up or streaming is unavailable. Going round in circles following the idiot (literally in my case) guide. Yes I know the internet is broken. Yes it is powered on and all the connections are the same. Removed all and plugged back per the guides and a solid red persists. I can’t for the life of me get through to the call centre, what is going on? I have read elsewhere on this forum that red lights on hub 3 should not be ignored. I have had a solid red light for several weeks now. During this time I have checked the cables mulitple times, done multiple power cycles and two pinhole resets... still solid red. I explained this to a chat bot, then to person on the vm chat support, who eventually booked a technician visit for tomorrow. Then this morning i get an email and text saying the visit has been cancelled because the issue as been fixed. Email explains that they know it is fixed because they have been monitoring my account usage. Well... at no point did i say that i had no internet... so the fact i am using it does not mean my issue is fixed. And the light is still red. I've had a red light on my hub for about a month. After speaking to the support and doing all the usual things they ask you, turn it off, reset the hub, check the wires are connected etc. It still stays on from the moment you switch it on. Hi, my Hub 3 is displaying a constant red light. The light turned red over a few hours and has been constantly red for 3 days. The hub is standing in an open space with nothing covering it. The hub is not hot to touch. I have turned it off overnight but it came back on red. I'm not getting anywhere with chat/whatsapp/phone.
