Ip address change frequency
I have been with virgin for 12+ years and in that time the IP address has been fairly stable. my best estimate is that it has changed every couple of years. For work I need have my IP address whitelisted to access certain services so the 'semi static' (ie dynamic) has never been an issue however in the last 6 weeks the IP address has changed twice which is becoming a bit inconvenient. I've spoken to virgins support and they said that the IP address is set to change every 15 days "for security reasons". Does anyone know if this is correct? Is it a new policy? It doesn't sound right. I realise virgin don't offer fixed IPs on there domestic connections (if they did I'd happily pay) but a new IP every 15 days is going to be unworkable. Does anybody know anything about this?UniFi setup with VM
I have a unifi cloud console that I want to install at a site which currently runs TalkTalk internet, I am nearly ready to switch to VM broadband, I have a question regarding Ubiquiti's UCG-Max cloud gateway and how I can connect it in a way that it becomes the primary router to avoid double NAT. Would I put the router in route mode or would I plug the line directly into the router and have the IP assigned via DHCP? Thanks, DaniyalSolved1.7KViews0likes4CommentsXbox NAT & Teredo issues
Seems like a problem others have faced but I'm a 3.0 hub user who is experiencing "NAT unavailable" and "Can't get a Teredo IP address" issues on my Xbox series X which means party chat isn't working. Also have an Xbox series S in the same household which doesn't have the issue - I'm assuming multiple consoles on the same network is causing the problem?! I've followed Microsoft support in terms of port forwarding/static IP etc but without a resolution. Any advice on fixing this would be much appreciated. I've seen other similar issues which seems to be localised, my postcode is RH11 if this helps. TIA1.5KViews0likes7CommentsSuffering Common Xbox Nat/Teredo Issues
Just got VM in our new house in South London area 21 2 xboxs in the house are not able to connect to the VM network via wifi or wired getting NAT/Teredo error message. Called VM Tech and did pin hole factory reset 5 times, ethernet cable, 24 hr monitoring and 3rd party router still not fixed, VM tech support very unhelpful saying "no issue reported" however as links below show this is a wider localised issue with on area being exactly in the same location as me. Please help get this sorted! Area 21, south London. Sudden issues since Xmas Eve whereby the Xbox will not connect to internet. I’ve reset Xbox and router, wired the connection, it’s not working. Will connect to my iPhone hotspot but when trying to connect to virgin I’m getting Teredo issue, cannot connect with static IP, NAT type unavailable, service info unavailable. I’ve followed all Xbox troubleshooting. See there was an issue in Staffordshire earlier this year with lots of people reporting the same, seems it was an ISP issue. Anyone advise?3.5KViews0likes20Comments
