Volt Gig1 Speed
hi for those of you wondering why your not seeing 1130 + Mbps with your Gig1 volt connection when you speed test online to check!it,the main reason your only seeing 940 Mbps is because you only have a 1 Gb Adapter in the computer, so now that you know this Fact' go Buy a 2.5 Gb Adapter with this you'll see the full speed router = 1144 Mbps and to device your pc download will be 1130 to 1235 Mbps on good days when SamKnows is running under less load' ok back to the Adapter these are the settings i have mine set too,and my download is at the time of writing this, 1138 to Router @ 1165 to Device time is 00:16 now you can run the test a few times and speed will vary that's down to the Congestion and load on there servers, any how set your 2.5 Adapter to these settings of mine and see if yours works as fast, just copy the original settings in case you need to change back! ...................... okay ...................... disabe All Offloads ...................... Flow Control auto negotiation Jumbo Packet = 9014 Packet Prioity & VLAN disabled Receive Buffers = 2048 Selective Suspend disable Selective Suspend idle Timeout = 5 Speed & Duplex 2.5 Gbps Full Duplex Transmit Buffers = 2048 ------------------------------------- that should get you the best speed hope this Helps regards Philip67275Views1like0CommentsVolt upgrade - speed not updated
I changed over to Virgin in July 24 and I am still waiting for my Volt upgrade! im on 500 my account says 1Gb but speed tests have never been above 600. My O2 upgraded my data doubled automatically without prompt so 10 out of 10 for O2. I have tried to speak with a human but seem to get machines that offer a solution to a different problem then cut you off. over the last few months of trying I did actually speak to someone who wasn't sure what Volt was!. They took a lot of details and then passed me to O2 but here we are still. Yesterday I was sent a WhatsApp link but no one answers anyone got any solution? Im hoping it may be a setting somewhere that doesn't involve trying to speak to "Virgin"...Thx [MOD EDIT: Subject title changed for clarity]559Views1like5CommentsFirst wifi pod ordered
Hi all. Ive just had my broadband installed. Upgraded to the 1 gig volt bundle. After running test on connect app. It has reccomended wifi pods. (In a few rooms i may add) anyway after a long and stressfull experience trying to order one. Having to run multiple tests and answer the same questions more then once. The agent told me they had placed the order for my first pod. I did ask if i could recieve the black wifi 6 pod, (makes sense, better technology, better connection/speeds) to be told they had ordered the older white ones. One of these is needed in mu kids gaming room, so the abilty to have a wifi6 booster with wired connection from it to their consoles will be a massive benefit. I also have 2 Ring security devices, that are recieving very poor connection. Is there anyway i can get this swapped please? Thanks466Views1like4CommentsVolt Benefit - broadband speed not upgraded
I have renewed my contract on a new deal a few weeks back, and also have a separate O2 account which I have linked with VM for the Volt benefit of increased broadband speed. The Volt benefits have been applied to my O2 account, but not to my Virgin Media broadband, which should be up to 1Gig. I have the Hub 5 router. Could someone look into this please. Thanks598Views1like7CommentsVirgin Not Applying Volt Speed Boost
Hello, I renewed my contact to Volt M500 Broadband having been informed on the phone "They submitted a form to get volt applied", thereby getting the upgrade to gigabyte broadband. Unfortunately I haven't received the upgrade on virgin media but have got it on my O2 contact; see screenshots below. This isn't a WiFi issue as I use Cat 8 Ethernet throughout my setup. Is there a method of getting this applied without having to sit on the phone and argue it for a protracted period? Thank you632Views1like5CommentsVolt. Speed Boost
Hi everyone, I seem to be in the same boat as quite a few other people in that I haven't received by volt speed boost yet (250 >350). Broadband was activated two weeks ago with the O2 portion being activated last Saturday. Both the O2 and VM accounts were setup at the same time and there is no discrepancies in account details. On my Vm account page under broadband it states - 'We’ve noticed you don’t have our Ultrafast Fibre Broadband in your package. Check out our broadband deals so you can browse, watch, stream and game more with ease.' I do have it, I'm looking at the 5x hub right now 🙂 Also, the VM connect app can't find the 5x 'Looks like we've lost connection' Tried the IOS and Android versions of the app, always the same outcome. Can anyone help pointing out what to do? Thanks!1.7KViews1like16CommentsPackage change charge for ‘free’ Volt benefits
I’ve been charged a package change fee of £26.50 for the ‘Free’ Volt benefits. I didn’t even ask to be upgraded on Volt. It automatically happened a few days after the Broadband had been installed. Are companies allowed to do this? Automatically give you an upgrade that incurs a charge without your consent?1.1KViews1like7CommentsWIFI dead spot.

I have installed the connect app as advised but there's no option to order the signal booster as described in poor coverage areas... less than 30 Mpbs I'm on the Volt Gig1 Full Fibre Broadband package FYI.
