Incorrect Location for my IP
Noticed the other day that my WAN IP had changed. Unfortunately this IP address is associated with VM in Glasgow but I am in Peterborough (322 miles between them). It is a pain as I now have to listen to adverts that are Glasgow orientated, not that I have anything against the Scottish. How long will VM take to update the online database for this IP? Or do I need to request VM to do it?46Views0likes3CommentsSee 403 forbidden only with Virgin wifi for a ticket website
I want to buy concert tickets from Melon Ticket Global, which is a legal ticketing website in South Korea. I can open the website with my data or with other providers' wifi, but can't open it with the Virgin Media wifi, which is also my home wifi. I saw "403 Forbidden" when I tried to access it with Virgin. Unluckily, I can't use my data inside my flat, thanks to the concrete building :( I think this might be due to that Virgin Media uses its own DNS address. I tried to change my home wifi's DNS to public IPs (Google, Cloudflare), but it still didn't work. I used NordVPN at home, still not working. I kind of doubt that Virgin Media forces me to use its own DNS. Maybe I'm asking too much, but I do feel very inconvenient to go outside to access the website. And I'm still not sure it's Virgin Media banning Melon Ticket Global, or the other way around.52Views0likes4CommentsLatency spikes/dropped packets, at wits end!
Been using my M500 broadband line for a few years now and never had problems with Virgin Media, until two weeks ago. I started getting random latency spikes that's deeply affecting work calls and gaming. Engineer came around on Saturday and says everything is "fine" on my line, even replaced my Hub 3 router with a brand new one - after he left, I continued to monitor and test for a few hours, but sadly same issue persists! I've set up a BQM (I showed the engineer this, but didn't seem phased) Here is my line with the BQM from ThinkBroadband (post the new Hub 3 as the graph looked the same pre-new Hub 3), you can clearly see the dropped packets - Clearly there is something very wrong with my line, please can anyone help!?Solved338Views0likes22CommentsInternet only works between certain hours?
My internet connection has only been working properly between roughly 10:09am and 4:01pm every day, and this is now day 5 of the issue. Outside of those hours the service is basically unusable due to the upload speed dropping. I have run multiple speed tests and the pattern is exactly the same every day. Before 10:09am and after 4:01pm, my upload speed sits at around 0.20 Mbps, but between those hours it jumps to around 40 Mbps. I have made countless calls to Virgin Media and am getting nowhere. An engineer is due to visit today between 12pm and 4pm, but I am not hopeful as this clearly is not an isolated fault. I live in a block of flats and multiple neighbours in my block, as well as the block next door, are all affected by the same problem. One neighbour already had an engineer visit yesterday and was given a replacement router, which only worked for about 10 minutes before the issue returned. I am using a Hub 5 and have only been with Virgin Media for two months, so this is incredibly frustrating. Has anyone experienced anything like this before or got any ideas what could be causing such a specific, time-based upload issue? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!78Views0likes6CommentsWiFi speed expectations - 1/3 of the speed
Hi All, Just had a problem with my Hub fixed and now have a Hub 5 all working. Engineer said I wasn't getting full 1gb internet speeds but it should improve. I've just checked and I'm getting around 200 this morning, got about 330 yesterday evening. What could be the cause? Any ideas on how to fix?201Views0likes23CommentsHub 5 rebooting it self between 8pm - 10pm every night.
So as title states, for the last 2 weeks my virgin hub 5 has started to reboot it self any time between the hours of 8pm up until 10 pm that ive noticed. so i loose internet to all connected devices, wifi and wired for a few minutes. the white light on the hub starts flashing for a few minutes. This is not ideal. kids games consoles go off, we loose connection to our streaming services, and other smart devices around the home, including security. nothing has been manually changed in the hub. please help134Views0likes15CommentsBroadband outage since 20.11.25 in HX7 - any insiders know why?
I’m in West Yorkshire (hX7) and my broadband has now been down since 20th November due to an outage in our area. Virgin Media keeps giving me daily “it’ll be fixed by X time” estimates, but every time the deadline passes the fix time just gets pushed back again. I finally got a fault reference (F012083365), but the automated text updates are now giving me completely unrealistic placeholder repair dates like 29/11/2025 and 01/12/2025, which obviously aren’t genuine engineer estimates. It feels like the system is just looping without any real update or engineer activity. I’ve spoken to WhatsApp support, web chat, and phone support, but I keep getting copy-paste answers like “an engineer is on their way” or “external damage by a foreign element,” with no actual detail about what’s happening or when it will realistically be resolved. Is anyone else in the area experiencing the same outage? Or does anyone here who works/has worked for Virgin Media know what this usually means? Is this the kind of long-term fault where they’re waiting on contractors or permits, or is it more likely that the job is stuck in their system? Any insight would be massively appreciated the lack of real communication is the most frustrating part.66Views0likes3CommentsInternet (wired and wireless) keeps cutting out even after 2 engineer visits
Hi virgin, Our internet keeps cutting out at random times during the day we've had an engineer check the cabinets, replace the coax cable, replace the hub but it all keeps dropping out. I am unsure what to do anymore as these drop outs are getting ridiculous112Views0likes1CommentWiFi stops working after midnight after every few weeks
Last night, my doorbell cam stopped recording after midnight and ever since. My Electric car charger also didn't charge my car (it's scheduled to charge my car after midnight). All phones seem to be getting internet, but something funny is going on with the superhub because this happens every few weeks. Once I go to the SuperHub settings page and reboot, the doorbell camera starts working again. The last time this happened was 16th November at around 12:51am. Could you check the logs to see what happened please?183Views0likes15Comments
