I don't want to renew my contract 1 month before the rpi rise. Can I leave and come back in April?

My 1gig contract expires at the end of Feb, and at the end of March there will be a big price rise. I can deal without Internet for a time if needed.

It doesn't feel okay for me to pay 1 month of the new contract as normal price and then 17 months of the price being higher.

The price I was offered on the phone is already higher than the deals being advertised for new customers which sucks. I'm with sky for my tv and virgin for my Internet and sky always seem to give my renewal the same offers they give new people..

Hi @Nel13

Welcome back to the community forums

Sorry to hear of your concerns with your renewal.

If you're currently unhappy with your package deal, you can contact us on live chat from your online account or consider giving us a call on 0345 454 1111 / 150 or via WhatsApp on 07305 327 112 our team will be more than happy to perform a package review for you. They will ensure that you're on the best possible deal for your package. If there are no available deals suitable for you at this time, the team will be able to advise the next options for you.

If you were to leave and then re-join a month later, you would not be eligible for a new customer deals and would be offered the deals that would be available to you as an existing customer in April.

If you waited three months you would be treated as a newbie.

I renewed for £46 per month on gig1 with a hub5 upgrade after speaking to the renewals team and tech team.

Then I revived an email saying "Your new monthly bundle cost is: £90.99*. Your next bill will be £147.47* which includes £56.48 to cover your changes up until your next bill period."

So that's pretty worrying 🙄

On this point, you wouldn't necessarily need to. Your contract doesn't "end", it just reaches the end of a minimum term and becomes a rolling 30day notice one.

So once you're outside of the minimum term, you'll be paying the undiscounted price but can give notice anytime.

Hi @Nel13,

Is this your most recent bill? When did you discuss and agree to the package change? It's possible it's not detailing any agreed discounts as they can be applied in the background.

Thanks,

Yesterday approx 11am I agreed to £46. Shortly after the call I recieved an email with a correct looking contract.

The advisor told me to also call the tech team to see if hub5 was available to me. I did this at approx 1pm, and they asked to run a test, after which they said they would send me a hub5 at no additional cost.

Then at approx 4pm I recieved a new email saying my bill next bill would be £147 and future bills would be £91.

Hi @Nel13,

Thanks for expanding. So that we can take a closer look, I'm going to send you a private message in a few moments. Please respond to this when you can and we'll proceed from there.

Thanks,
