Virginmedia secondary email address password reset

there is no method on the virginmedia support site to change or reset a virgimedia secondary email password and after a 35 minute conversation with the helpdesk they clearly do not know what to do!

I urgently need to access a secondary email account but do not know the password - I need it resetting or a link to reset ASAP

    Try Forgotten your Password? | Reset Here | Virgin Media Be aware that the account password can only be used to sign  into My Virgin Media or webmail and a separate App Password must be used with other email clients. To generate the App Password sign into My Virgin Media  and select Account settings > Virgin Media Mail settings > Generate new App password

      This is not helpful - I am not trying to log into my primary email account from a 3rd party application but reset one of my secondary email logon passwords...

      Primary email:  [REMOVED]@virginmedia.com    - I can logon fine to this account and can find no way to reset the password of the secondary email:  [REMOVED]@virginmedia.com

      This is necessary to set up [REMOVED]@virginmedia.com email account on a new mobile device - please provide specific details not just a link to potentially helpful post, thank you

        Primary account can only delete secondary accounts, i.e. it cannot be used to reset secondary account password.

        To manage the secondary account you must sign in using its authentication credentials; if you have forgotten its password then reset it  here Forgotten your Password? | Reset Here | Virgin Media

        You will need to generate the App Password, mentioned previously, for use with mobile device's mail application.

    Has this issue been solved ? I cannot reset my secondary email password. If you dont know the correct method please dont post unhelpful and wrong information as the "insightful person " has.

      Please do consider adding detail to what “unhelpful and wrong advice” was posted earlier.

  • Just to say that I share your pain. I am having a very extended Private Mail conversation with a VM Forum person after I changed my secondary mail username and password because my secondary email was locked. Unlocking was eventually successful but now my secondary VM My Account does not recognise either the new username or the new password. I could try to change the password by the suggested method but I am concerned that I will be locked out again. I wonder if this is a widespread issue.

    You cannot reset password on website. Is that enough detail ?

      Regrettably no. Are you able to detail the steps taken and what, if any, error message is shown, for example:

      1. Entered email address and selected Sign in
      2. Selected password
      3. Re-entered email address and selected Continue
      4. Following error message was shown:

        NB do make sure to redact personal information before posting

    I get as far as No4. I contacted them via chat and they reset it . It still doesn't work so I am at a loss as what to do next. Thanks for the info.

      What error message is shown at step 4; can you post a redacted screenshot?
