We are aware that some customers are experiencing issues with their email service and are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. Our teams are working flat out to fully restore all emails as soon as possible.

Still no change here, day 16 of total chaos.
No access to historic emails or folders
I have now set up a rule so that everything hitting my Blueyonder account is automatically forwarded to my gmail account.
This will not bring anything prior to 19th June back but I need those historic emails urgently. I have deadlines approaching relating to the purchase of equipment, HMRC/NHS correspondence.

Received an email from virgin Media titled "We're planning essential works to your email service" in the evening last Thursday saying "we should have you back up and running again early tomorrow morning". But the service has not come back.
Two days later on Sunday I tried to contact Virgin Media through online help, also used WhatsApp messaging talked to an agent. Later I was told "the issue has been escalated to our IT team......we'll make sure to have your email restored within the next 48 hours."
So I waited for 48 hours. Nothing happened. I am still having this problem.
I have been trying this WhatsApp route again all day today. So hard to get through.
I had similar problem last year. Posted here and solved. So I am trying this here now.
Last successful sync was 18jun from Samsung email client, tried adding as new account on outlook…both unsuccessful.
when are we going to see Virgin mail restored
Since all these email problems started my blueyonder email has come back online (thankfully) but Outlook still won't connect to the server. The settings are all correct and I have changed my passwords (Virgin Media and the app password for Outlook) but makes no difference. Putting this curl -v smtps://smtp.virginmedia.com -u myemail@blueyonder.co.uk:app_password produces this 235 2.7.0 SMTP350 Authentication successful which I think means that my laptop can succcessfully access and authenticate with the VM server though Outlook cannot. Please can anyone advise how to sort this or should I just continue to wait on Virgin sorting itself out, if it ever does.

AT LAST!!! THEY'RE BACK!!!
I logged yet anotehr complaint yesterday. then early hours today (circa 3am), my email account went offline again. So I thought I would try webmail. Lo and behold! ALL of my historic emails had returned in webmail! Shortly followed by an email from Mr. Wehrle. I quit my mail app, restarted it, and I now I have all of my historic emails in my app too (Mac Mail).
I'm relieved, massively relieved. My anger hasn't dissipated over this fiasco, it's been an appalling state of affairs. Right, I'm off to back up!

From what has been posted here recently wrt restored emails, I am now assuming that VM are fixing each individual account one by one.
soooooo.......if they know how many 1000's of accounts (ie some = x) need fixing and they know how many techs (y) they have on this and they know roughly how long each restore takes each tech (z mins/hours/days) then surely Axle knows how long this is all going to take.
Perhaps that figure is in the area of weeks or months rather than days and VM just don't want to say so or throw more money at it.
Could VM/Axle please supply x y and z estimates
Like almost everybody else, I need my historic emails.
Got my historic folders and emails back this morning, I need to figure out to backup in case thus happens again. I am an original telewest customer, been with Virgin since day 1, my emails are @ blueyonder.co.uk
I use bluemail on both my android and PC to read my emails, anyone know if Mailstore works with Bluemail?
The issue of VM email service being free and not paid for is complete bs.
If you can apply for and get a VM email account without being a paying customer as you can with google or microsoft etc then it is free.
As this is not the case then by the cunning use of the IF/THEN function we can prove that it is in fact paid for in the same way as BT branded emails.

It is provided ‘under’ an umbrella suite of services for a paid subscription. And having multiple email accounts was certainly pitched as a selling point for their (ntl: at the time) internet service, when I joined nearly 30 odd years ago…

To add , when I got my original NTL broadband, I was REQUIRED to have and use an ntlworld.com email address. as such there is a requirement that the service provider include an email service.
Ok, so, I’ve been watching this with interest this past fortnight, but I’ve always had access to my historic emails - I just had periods when I couldn’t send/receive.
Woke up this morning to an email from Axel informing me that “our teams have now completed the full restoration of your inbox, which means all of your historic emails should now be available.”
They always were available - UNTIL NOW!!! Nothing in my inbox or sent items before 19/06. The fix to restore MY historic emails has done the exact opposite!!
At the risk of teaching granny to do her egg trick @LeffeMonster: disconnect from your network, open up any other email client you may have linked to the account but not yet synced, and grab a backup.
Absolute pile of horse manure. No historic emails and folders still empty. Virgin your an embarrassment
