Re: Left VM and require email account deleting Active in the fact that emails are still being received to the accounts. Re: Left VM and require email account deleting Thanks goslow and coenoby. Both of the accounts I deleted today are still very much active despite no longer appearing in my account, but I think this might be normal (I believe some other email providers leave accounts ‘active’ for a while before killing them, in case it was deleted in error). As for the primary email, I’ll await a response from a forum team member. Left VM and require email account deleting After finally getting to a position where we can stop using our ntlworld.com email accounts, and having left VM for a better (and cheaper) full fibre ISP, I took steps to delete the secondary email accounts today. However, there is another account that I seemingly cannot delete - this was previously used as the primary email address when I first joined VM. I’ve 2 questions I’m hoping someone can answer - 1) For the secondary email accounts that I’ve deleted, how long does it take before they are actually and finally deleted? I appreciate they won’t become inactive immediately but don’t know how long it takes for them to finally die. 2) Can someone from VM please contact me in relation to the email account that I cannot delete. Thanks in advance. SolvedRe: Loss of Email - F010762348 Utter. Absolute. Shambles. I really feel for those who have been severely impacted by this (I’m not…) but the lack of ANY decent response from Virgin Media is beyond contemptible. I really hope that a) VM get their corporate arses reamed as a result of this, and b) they learn from it and ensure it never happens again. Not holding my breath on either front btw. Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 Another email from Axel just landed in my inbox. At 2211 yesterday the email I received stated they had “completed the full restoration of your inbox”. Today at 1537, “your historic emails will be restored by Monday 17 July at the latest.” #confused Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 I should have added that the only place my ntlworld email account is available is on my iPad. It used to be on my laptop but that got rebuilt a few weeks ago and now uses Linux rather than Windows, and I haven’t added any email since the rebuild. So, I guess that’s me screwed! Like I said, no big deal if I don’t get them back but I just find it odd that everything was hunky-dory until VM decided to do the ‘mailbox merge’ - its this that has created the problem for me! Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 @mykol - I’m not especially bothered if I’m honest as I moved all my important stuff a few months ago to a gmail account after my ntlworld account got hacked. I just find it a little odd that I could see all my historic emails until VM ‘fixed’ the problem - and now I can’t… Interestingly, my wife’s ntlworld email has been fine since all this started. I’m trying to convince her to move to using her gmail account as well - but that’s proving challenging. Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 Ok, so, I’ve been watching this with interest this past fortnight, but I’ve always had access to my historic emails - I just had periods when I couldn’t send/receive. Woke up this morning to an email from Axel informing me that “our teams have now completed the full restoration of your inbox, which means all of your historic emails should now be available.” They always were available - UNTIL NOW!!! Nothing in my inbox or sent items before 19/06. The fix to restore MY historic emails has done the exact opposite!! Re: Price rise My package is going up by almost 20%, so it’s time to ditch the TV and landline and just keep the BB. Freesat PVR and new dish might be an initial outlay but it’s a one-off cost. Most of what we watch is free-to-air and with BT Sports soon moving to Discovery+ I’d be losing that with Virgin anyway. I don’t want to be tied in to another 18-month contract with above-inflation rises every year that I can’t escape from before contract end. I’ll keep the BB as it’s too much of a faff changing email accounts from the ntlworld ones we have, and since we need BB anyhow I’ll see what price I get offered on a BB-only deal.
