Unfortunately both the Hub 4 and 5 are the current Hub's for 1Gb. Pot luck which will turn up.

All hubs are nothing but trouble in router mode use modem mode

But remember you'll lose some bandwidth with the HUB 4 in modem mode since it uses gigabit ethernet ports (So around 900 - 940Mbps rather than 1130Mbps).

I may cancel if they send me out a hub 4 as I would like the hub 5.

Everyone wants a Hub 5 until they can't get it working with their
IoTs / Wi-Fi Printers / 10 Mb/s Heating System / 2.5 Gb/s Unmanaged Switch !- legacy1Alessandro Volta
I just want a hub5 for modem mode and its 2.5Gb because I'm not planning to go any where and be on Docsis till its dying days and have to hope they put modem mode for fibre.

I installed my hub 5 last week and it works perfect with printers, mobile phones, and computers.

Are there any virginmedia mods on here that we can message direct?

It can take several days for a reply on here. Bumping doesn't help FYI.

The best plan of action may be to be at home on the day the VM engineer comes to install
the service and politely ask if a Hub 5 is available from the van.
Perhaps you have already seen this thread regarding the Hub 5 2.5Gb/s port ...

Not just about speed though, the HUB5 has more sensitive tuner in it meaning that other hubs giving a lower SNR would get a higher one under the HUB5. I've used most of the hubs throughout my years with VM. The HUB5 for me in modem mode, was the most stable and attained the best signal and least noise.
