Hub 3 overheating red light constantly for weeks- customer services advise 'do not worry'

Hi

I have also been having this issue with my router. Light on the front of the hub is red. It is in a well ventilated area but feels warm to the touch (especially at the top of the unit). I currently can't connect via WiFi on any device but no issues over ethernet.

The Wifi does come back for a period after restarting the router but I lose the ability to connect to it once the device has gone out of range.

I've run the diagnostic tool on the router and that says all is OK including the temperature.

Anything else I can try or will I need a replacement?

    Irrespective of aging LED or not, these old Hubs seem to have left VM in a pickle.  Do they ignore the Hubs due to age, or do they run the risk of a genuine Hub overheat warning? If a user has reported a red LED and no action is taken, who is responsible if a Hub catches fire?  Between a Rock and a Hard Place springs to mind.

    Thank you for your post, I'm sorry to hear that your Hub appears to be overheating. I'll pop over a private message now so I can take your details and arrange for an engineer to visit and replace the Hub if needed. 

    In the meantime, we'd advise to jeep the Hub switched off at the plug as much as possible for safety reasons.
